Shani Andras is an antagonist in Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.
Shani is one of the three "Boosted Men" ('First Generation' Biological CPU) assigned to operate the GAT-X252 Forbidden Gundam, one of the Earth Alliance's new Gundam mobile suits. Like his comrades, his personal data has been erased from the military's records, although it's still likely that he was raised and "reprogrammed" in the same facility as the other Biological CPUs.
Personality[]
Shani is a rather aloof and antisocial person who fights alone in battle. He also listens to music to block himself off from the outside world.
Powers and Abilities[]
Shani is a very skilled pilot, although sometimes interfered by impulse and his temper.
Biography[]
Background[]
Nothing is known about Shani's childhood nor his early life, as his personal data has been deleted.
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED[]
Battle of Orb[]
At the battle of Orb, Shani, Clotho Buer, and Orga Sabnak were decimating Orb's forces. He and his comrades attack and overwhelm Kira Yamato, who arrived in his ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam. They almost win, until Athrun Zala intervenes in his ZGMF-X09A Justice Gundam. Shani and his teammates began suffering the withdrawal symptoms from the drug that made them the Biological CPUs, forcing them to retreat from the battle to alleviate the withdrawal symptoms. However, Muruta Azrael, the leader of Blue Cosmos, had the Biological CPUs suffer from the withdrawal as punishment for their failure before giving them the drugs. The next day, they attacked Orb until Kira arrives again and Athrun comes and balances the battle. That same day they all chase the Kusanagi, until the Freedom and Justice Gundam blow them away.
Battle of Mendel Colony[]
Shani and the others were soon transferred into space aboard the Archangel-class assault ship Dominion to chase the Archangel and Kusanagi and capture the Freedom and Justice. Tracking them to the Mendel colony, the Biological CPUs sortied against the newly formed Three Ships Alliance. Shani attempted to take out the Kusanagi, which was snared on a tether, only to be knocked out of the way by Athrun/Justice. Shani was then forced to retreat when the Archangel got backup from the Kusanagi and Eternal .
As the Three Ship Alliance withdrew inside the colony, the Biological CPUs once again sortied, only to be single-handedly fended off by Athrun/Justice. They soon changed objectives after the ZAFT ships deployed a life pod that contained Flay Allster, who stated over the comms that she had the key to end the war. After bringing the life pod onto the Dominion, Azrael got intel on the N-Jammer Cancellers from the "key".
Battle of Boaz[]
His team would be deployed to clear the way to ZAFT's space fortress Boaz for the Peacemaker Force, and he enjoys the colors of the explosions.
Operation Peacemaker[]
After the destruction of Boaz, his team would also aid in targeting the PLANT homeland. Azrael convinced the top brass of the Earth Alliance to use the N-Jammer Canceller technology to launch a nuclear attack on the PLANTs. The Biological CPUs guard the Peacemaker forces from the ZAFT forces trying to intercept them. Shani, in particular, "want[ed] to see all the pretty lights". However, the Freedom and Justice intervened, destroying all the missiles.
Enraged at the attempt at their homeland, ZAFT returns fire with GENESIS, which Shani and his team would witness in shock.
Second Battle of Jachin Due[]
His team would be deployed again to fight the ZAFT forces near Jachin Due. He also fights with Kira, Athrun, and the Three Ships Alliance for some time, and Yzak later intervenes and the two duel.
Death[]
Shani was killed by Yzak Joule and the GAT-X102 Duel Gundam after Dearka Elsman damaged the Forbidden`s beam deflectors. Shani tried to fire the "Hresvelg" plasma induction cannon when Yzak went in for a kill. Yzak blocked this attack with his shield and the Assault Shroud, destroying both equipment in the process; tricking Shani with the seeming defeat, Yzak takes a strike at the Forbidden's cockpit.
