Sharat.jpg

Sharat is one of the two main antagonists of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Armageddon Game", along with E'Tyshra.

He was portrayed by Peter White.

Biography

Sharat was the Kellerun ambassador. After his people finally ended a centuries-long war with the T'Lani, both races joined together to destroy the harvesters, biological weapons used during the war. Sharat reluctantly agreed to bring in Federation officers Chief O'Brien and Doctor Bashir to assist. The scientific team successfully worked out a way to destroy the harvesters and wiped all data on how to construct more. Sharat visited them and told them that all the harvesters must be destroyed.

Just as the last harvesters were being destroyed, Kellerun troops burst into the laboratory and killed all the T'Lani and Kellerun scientists. O'Brien and Bashir managed to escape and beamed to the surface. Sharat and his T'Lani counterpart E'Tyshra visited Deep Space 9 and presented Commander Sisko with fake security footage showing all the scientists being killed by a radiation surge O'Brien accidentally triggered.

Eventually, a group of T'Lani soldiers accompanied by E'Tyshra tracked down Bashir and O'Brien on the surface. The two Starfleet officers had assumed that the Kelleruns had betrayed the T'Lani, but when Sharat arrived, it was revealed that he and E'Tyshra were working together. They not only wanted to destroy all the harvesters but also anyone who might have knowledge of how to construct more...and the only ones left alive with the knowledge after the massacre of the scientists were O'Brien and Bashir. However, before they could kill the pair, they were beamed aboard the Runabout Ganges.

Sharat headed up to a T'Lani ship with E'Tyshra where they opened fire on the weaker Federation ship. Sisko hailed them, warning them they were committing an act of war and insisting neither O'Brien nor Bashir would reveal what they had learned. Sharat and E'Tyshra insisted even the possibility was too great a risk and were prepared to kill Sisko and Dax as well. As the Ganges came at them, weapons firing, the T'Lani ship opened fire and destroyed the runabout. It was at that point that they realised the Runabout Rio Grande was missing and that Sisko and the others could have beamed over and escaped while they were distracted. Sharat protested that they had seen O'Brien and Bashir die but E'Tyshra was less certain.
