The Shark is a supporting antagonist in the Horrid Henry series. It is purple shark that constantly tries to eat Henry to no avail. When Henry had to go to swim class, he makes up a fake story about the shark and spreads it to his other classmates, who pass it onto each other.
Biography[]
The Shark is first seen inside of Henry's dream, where it chases him out of the pool until he was woken up by Mum. In order to avoid doing swimming class, Henry makes up a fake tale about the shark: that it will try and eat anyone who enters the pool when they’re swimming. The rumor passes to each classmate, and eventually, everyone is afraid of it, except Margaret. Mr Soggington asks why isn't anyone swimming, and they say that it's because of the shark.
He then tells Henry to start swimming, and he does so, but sees a shark's fin in the water, who chases after him, causing him to swim really fast out of the pool, making him receive the fastest time for swimming and a swim badge. The Shark was revealed to be Rude Ralph, who was trying to scare Henry. Mr Soggington then gives him double detention because of it.
Other appearances[]
The shark makes an appearance in the Nintendo DS game Horrid Henry's Horrid Adventure as a minor enemy, except it’s blue. Whenever Henry enters the water, it begins to chase after him and afterwards bite him. Since it’s underwater, Henry can’t use his bubble to stun it.
