Paul King, better known as Sharkman, is the main antagonist of the 2005 Syfy film Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy.
He was portrayed by Anton Argirov.
Biography[]
Paul King was the son of scientist Preston King, born on an unspecified date. He was thought to have died of kidney cancer. Five years later, Preston invites the doctors that could not save his son to his uncharted island in the western Pacific, including Paul's widowed wife Amelia Lockhart and her new boyfriend Tom Reed. There, Dr. King reveals his son never died and was saved from death by being injected with hammerhead shark DNA to modify his stem cells. This turned Paul into a half-man/half-shark hybrid. Dr. King reveals that he lured the doctors to the island so he could feed them to the monster out of revenge for them firing him from his job five years ago, before releasing the water from the tank. Paul, now known as Sharkman, springs to life and chases after the doctors.
Sharkman goes on a killing spree and wipes out both the workers and "guests" of the island. He was eventually recaptured by Dr. King's remaining workers. Dr. King's men also capture Amelia, who Dr. King hopes his son will remember and mate with to create a half-human/half-shark offspring, believing Paul was still human. To put insult to injury, Dr. King has Whitney Feder, one of the doctors, fed to Sharkman with Amelia forced to watch. Amelia is then injected with a drug to calm her as Dr. King watches in hopes that Sharkman will see her as a mate.
However, Sharkman instead grows aggressive and bites his father's right arm off. Tom arrives at the laboratory and rescues Amelia. He forces liquid nitrogen down Sharkman's throat, causing him to explode. Dr. King attempts to shoot Amelia, but Tom kills him. The building explodes as Amelia and Tom escape, leaving them the only survivors.
