The Sharks are the hostile species and the titular secondary antagonists of the 2011 film Shark Night. They also appear as the main characters in its 2011 video game Hungry Shark Night.
Their vocal sound effects were provided by Steve C. Aaron.
Biography[]
The film begins with a woman named Jess as she swims inside a nearby lake that is close to their Trailer. Her boyfriend Keith sneaks up behind her under the water and lifts her up from the water as a surprise. While Keith puts Jess back into the water, he tells Jess that he's going to go back in the trailer to get something to eat, before then removing her bra and throwing it into the water. As Jess retrieves her bra and puts it back on, One of the sharks (later stated that it was a Thresher Shark) appears behind her and starts attacking her. While the shark thrashes Jess around in the water, she tries to scream out for her boyfriend, Keith but he doesn't hear her while loud music plays inside the trailer. The Shark then kills Jess after she attempts to try and go onto the dock but gets pulled back into the water by the shark.
Meanwhile, two college students named Gordon and Nick are in their dorm apartment while Gordon plays Halo and Nick. While Gordon succeeds on convincing Nick to play Halo with him, another student named Malik barges into the room telling Nick that he was supposed to get a "C" to keep his scholarship and that without a degree he would be back living in the 4-1-O. Malik then walks up towards Nick and then pulls out his testing paper, revealing that he has a "B+" and that he was joking with Nick. While Malik cheers for passing the test, He tells Nick that they're going to go to Lake Crosby and Celebrate, and while Nick tells Malik that he can't because he haves important tests to do, Malik convinces Nick, telling him that they're going to go to a vacation house that is owned by another student named Sara Palski, which Nick has a crush on.
Later, while the friends leave the dorm, one of their friends named Blake arrive and two more students named Beth and Malik's girlfriend Maya arrive in their Mini Van and they hop into the van as Sara also arrives with her Dog named Sherman and she and her dog also go in the van and they travel all the way to Lake Crosby. While arriving to Lake Crosby they head to a bait shop as Gordon, Nick and Blake go to buy alcohol, Sara and Beth go to the bathroom and Malik and Maya stay at the van. While Malik and Maya are at the van, a car arrives next to them as a man named Red gets out of the car and smokes a cigarette. Red then says racial taunts to both Maya and Malik and tells Maya that he can give her English lessons in the back of his truck which Malik gets frustrated from it and he presses him as another man named Dennis Crim appear and asks Malik what's his problem. Sara and the others appear as Dennis recognizes her and questions her on what she will become as after her college life.
Sara and the others then buy a boat and they drive all the way to her Vacation Home as a police boat then chases them to the Vacation Home. While they arrive to the Vacation Home, the police boat that was chasing them which is owned by a Sheriff named Sheriff Sabin parks the boat next to theirs and Sabin meets with the friends as Blake gives Sabin two cans of beer and Sabin tells them to be safe and have fun. The friends change into their bathing clothes and they have fun. Nick, Blake, Maya and Malik go water-skiing while Sara sunbathes at her house and Gordon and Beth chills at the mini jacuzzi, and as Malik is water-skiing, One of the sharks appears and begins pursuing Malik as it then attacks the surfboard and knocks Malik into the water, attacking him. As Nick, Maya and Blake search for Malik, they see Malik swimming back to shore and they follow him back to the house and as Malik makes it back to shore, Sara sees that Malik haves his right arm bitten off and he passes out on the shore.
As the friends are using a med-kit and a tourniquet on Malik, Nick goes to the dock and dives into the lake to search for Malik's arm. Sara follows Nick at the dock and stays on the dock while Nick finds Malik's arm but he notices a Shark in the water and swims towards the dock. Nick manages to make it to the dock with Malik's arm and the shark rips off the ladder from the dock. The friends take Malik onto the boat so they can drive to a Hospital and as Blake questions on why a shark will be in the lake, Gordon tells him that its a Saltwater lake and while Blake tells him what it means, Nick tells him that it means that its not impossible. Nick gets the friends to stay at the house, while him, Sara and Maya take Malik to a hospital.
While they drive to find a nearby hospital, Malik's blood begins dripping into a sink, which causes a Bull Shark to start following the boat and attack the boat. The Bull Shark knocks Maya off the boat and Nick throws a rescue float to Maya, but as they are driving on the boat, The Bull Shark catches up to Maya and grabs Maya off the rescue float, killing her. The Shark then bumps into the boat again, causing the boat to lose its steering and start smoking. Sara, Malik and Nick manages to jump off the boat, before it crashes into a gas pump in front of the boathouse, causing a huge explosion. While the friends take Malik into the bedroom they then light out a flare into the sky, which no one notices it in the sky.
Later, a boat arrives to the house which is owned by Red and Dennis, which Nick, Blake and Gordon goes to the dock and they tell them that there's been an accident and they need their help. Red and Dennis jokes about it which causes Blake to point a shotgun towards Red but he grabs the shotgun and jokes around with him. They tell Red and Dennis that Maya is dead, which they go into the house and see Malik without his arm. They tell the others that they will head to the marina and as soon as they grab a signal, they'll radio the Medevac and they'll chopper out a surgeon within the hour, which Dennis tells on who will go with him and Beth tells him that she'll go with them with Gordon. As Dennis, Red, Gordon and Beth drive away, Blake goes to the bedroom where Malik is at which Malik wakes up and Blake tells him that a doctor will arrive to help him. Malik tells him about where's Maya, which Blake tells him that he's sorry which makes Malik upset. Meanwhile, Red begins perving with Beth as she shines a flashlight at Beth, but then shines the light at Gordon and questions them on how big the shark was which they tell them that they don't know. Red suggests that the shark must be a bull shark and that it must be from the heavy hurricane that they had and it came all the way to the lake but then tells them that it could have been from something else.
Malik exits out of the house and goes to the shore with a spear, which Nick tries to convince him to not go into the lake to find the shark that ate his arm and killed Maya but Malik refuses and tells Nick that he should go back inside the house. Malik goes inside the water and waits for a shark to appear, which his blood drips into the water and it attracts a Hammerhead Shark to appear and it attacks Malik. Malik uses the spear to fight back which Nick goes into the water to help him and they successfully kill the Hammerhead Shark. Meanwhile, Dennis stops the boat and they both reveal to Gordon and Beth that they put the sharks in the lake so they can feed on them for revenge on the accident that caused Dennis to get a scar on his face by Sara. Dennis tries to get Gordon to get in the water, which Gordon refuses and it causes Dennis to grab out a pistol and he forces Gordon to get in by shooting him and he gets knocked into the water. The Bull Shark arrives and starts swimming towards Gordon but he manages to climb onto a nearby tree but the shark breaches out of the water, grabs Gordon from the tree and devours him. Later, after Sara and Blake takes Malik out of the water while getting the corpse of the Hammerhead onto the shore, Nick tells the others that the shark that he saw wasn't a hammerhead and it was a completely different shark but he doesn't know on how it got in the lake. Nick then finds a camera that was attached on its belly and tells the others that someone must have put the sharks in the lake. Blake tells the others that he's going to use the Jet Ski and take Malik across the lake but the others try to convince him not to but he refuses and Blake tells the others if they will help him. Dennis and Red gets Beth to remove her shirt and pants and as she undresses, she grabs a knife from her panties which the knife was taken by her while the others wasn't looking and she stabs Red with it but it doesn't put him down.
Dennis and Red puts a cage inside a net full of Cookiecutter Sharks which they both explain to Beth on what they are, while they also pour a bucket of severed cat-fish heads and the sharks begin eating it. While Dennis explains that the Cookiecutter sharks eat their own teeth to get calcium and that their normal diet is only skin, blubber and flesh, he then pushes Beth into the net and they film Beth getting killed by the Cookiecutter Sharks. Sheriff Sabin arrives to the house and sees the Hammerhead Shark that Malik killed on the shore. While Sheriff Sabin talks on his radio to call for help, Nick passes out on the floor and they take Nick to the couch, while the dog Sherman goes up to Sabin's bottle that Nick knocked over and begins eating the soup that was in the bottle. Meanwhile, Blake drives on the Jet Ski with Malik behind him which while they are driving, Malik sees a Great White Shark following them and Malik removes the rope tied to him and he falls into the water so the shark can eat him. Malik tries to go back to save Malik but the shark devours him so Blake begins to drive the Jet Ski back to the house but the Great White breaches out of the water, bites Blake's head and the shark pulls him off the Jet Ski. Sheriff Sabin tells Sara to grab a towel which when she goes to the kitchen, she finds her dog Sherman passed out on the floor and she grabs the radio and hears the conversation with Red, knowing on what's going on and that Sabin put drugs inside the soup that he gave to Nick for him to pass out. Sara grabs a kitchen knife and sneaks up behind Sabin but is stopped by Dennis but as Dennis covers her mouth, she bites his hand and Dennis shoots Sara with a tranquilizer dart and they capture both Nick and Sara.
Nick wakes up inside the boathouse while Sara wakes up in a Cage that Dennis made. As Sara apologizes on the accident that she did to him, Sherman begins barking at Dennis which Dennis tells Red to get rid of him and Red agrees so and throws Sherman into the water. At the boathouse, Sabin explains to Nick about the Sand Tiger Sharks (though in the film, he calls them Tiger Sharks instead of Sand Tigers) and he reveals to Nick that he, Dennis and Red has been inspired by the Discovery Channel's Shark Week and they wanted to film the sharks killing them so they can put it online for people to watch, while he shows Nick footage of a Thresher Shark that killed Jess in the opening of the film. While Dennis tells Carl to release another great white into the water for feeding time, Sabin cuts Nick's leg causing him to knock over a gasoline can, and Sabin uses a button to lift up the chair that Nick is tied on and he dunks him inside a tank that is filled with the Sand Tiger Sharks. After Sabin lifts him up from the tank, Sabin gets distracted from playing music on the CD Player and Nick frees himself from the chair with a lighter and throws the lighter at the gasoline, causing Sabin to be set on fire and he falls into the tank. Nick closes the tank and Sabin gets devoured by the Sand Tiger Sharks. Nick sees the boat that Dennis, Red and Sara is on and he dives into the water to save Sara.
Dennis places the cage into the water and covers Sara with buckets of chum but after he covers her with chum, he sees Nick holding Red hostage and holding the gun to Red's head. Dennis then turns around back to Sara and grabs a knife and throws it at Nick but he accidentally kills Red instead and he drops Red into the water. Dennis charges at Nick and strangles him, but gets knocked off the boat by Nick. As Nick lifts up the cage to save Sara, Dennis climbs behind the cage and removes the line connected to the cage, causing both him and Sara to fall into the water. Nick grabs a powerhead gun and dives into the water to save Sara. Sara tells Nick that she can't breathe so Nick swims back up and breathes in air, before then going back in the water and giving Sara some air so she can breathe. Dennis then appears behind Nick and strangles him under the water but Sara grabs Dennis and knocks his head into the cage making Nick able to swim away. Dennis gets his foot stuck in the cage and as he tries to get his leg off the cage, Sara then flips him off (and she mouths the words "F*ck You") before Dennis then gets his head devoured by a Great White Shark that appeared behind him. Nick resurfaces back in the water and Sherman appears giving Nick the powerhead gun, while the Great White then attacks the cage. Before the shark is able to get closer to Sara, Nick then swims back under the water, stabs the powerhead gun into the sharks head and blows the shark's brains out, killing it. Sara passes out in the cage and Nick takes her out of the cage and back onto the boat. Nick begins to do CPR on Sara and she regains consciousness and thanks him for saving her, while she kisses him. The movie ends with both Sara and Nick looking out into the lake as then a Great White Shark breaches out of the water and into the camera, leaving that there are still sharks in the lake.
Hungry Shark Night[]
The game has the same mechanics as its original Hungry Shark games and basically the same game story as the original games. The game haves at least three different sharks that you can play as in the game which are the Sand Tiger Shark, Hammerhead Shark and Great White Shark. The Sand Tiger Shark is unlocked by default, while the Great White and Hammerhead can only be purchased with money or watching some videos. In the menu of the game there's a button that tells the player that they can watch the trailer to the movie. There's a very high chance you have to purchase them with money but as for many other players, you can't watch any ads anymore.
