Sheiky is a villain from the Popeye episode, "A Wolf in Sheik's Clothing". He is a wealthy desert sheikh, who stile Olive Oyl from Popeye.

Biography

In "A Wolf in Sheik's Clothing", Popeye and Olive were out in the desert, when their camel needed a water refill so they took it to the desert filling station, where Sheikhy happened to be sleeping. Popeye went into the wash room, while Olive waited in the camel and raved about how much she desired a big strong sheikh. Sheiky was placing bets on horse races at the time, when he overheard this and fell head over heels for Olive. Sheiky tried to win her heard by building a kissing booth and charming her like a snake with alluring flute music, which made her slither over to the kissing booth. Sheiky told her that the price of a kiss was a dollar and Olive took out a massive wad of money, which Sheiky happily pocketed and planted onto her a loving smooch, which made her soar through the air like a lovebird. Sheiky told her that if she became his queen, he would shower her with his riches, and when Olive obliged, Sheiky hailed a taxi camel to take them off to his palace. Popeye came out of the wash room and saw this shifty sheikh take off with his girl and reasonably angry, took off after him.

Sheiky showed Olive his humble commode, which was a very fancy palace. Sheiky won Olive's heart by giving her fancy bracelets and tons of kisses. Popeye came in and picked a fight with the phony pharaoh, demanding he let go of his girl. Sheiky refused and used his sword to cut Popeye's hair in half. Popeye breathed fire through his pipe to melt the sword into a pin and turned Sheiky's dishdasha into a diaper. The two tussled it out until Olive stepped in and tried to break up their fight by giving them a peace pipe to smoke. Sheiky blew into the peace pipe to inflate Popeye like a balloon and Popeye sucked on the peace pipe to suck Sheiky in, trapping him in the glass bottle and Sheiky's little minion busted him out with a mallet. Sheiky summoned a hawk to pick up Popeye and carry him off but Popeye came back with the bird's now roasted corpse. Sheiky whipped Popeye with gauze and fired him out of a cannon, making him land in the Sphinx's mouth. Sheiky chased Olive around the TV screen and then closed the screen on her, trapping her on the other side of the fourth wall, where she fell into an crocodile pit. Popeye ate some spinach, which gave him the power of a volcano and let him blast out of the Sphinx. Popeye came back to Sheiky's palace, where Sheiky was dangling Olive over the crocodile pit with a fishing pole, demanding she choose between him and the crocodile. Popeye came in and zipped up the crocodile's mouth like a zipper and then used his Popeye powers punch Sheiky across the room, sending him flying into a wall, where he smashed into it and got imprinted into the rock, turning him into a hieroglyphic. With that, Popeye had Olive's heart back and boarded his camel with her, leaving that sneaky Sheiky in the desert dust.

Trivia

• The episode he comes from erroneously leaves the "h" off of "Sheikh", making the character's name "Sheiky".
• Due to the stereotypical nature of Sheiky, the episode he comes from has been banned from broadcast syndication. However, the uncut episode can still be found intact on DVD.
