Shenron is a major character in the Dragon Ball franchise. He is a Eternal Dragon created by Kami to grant any wish to anyone that reunites the seven Earth Dragon Balls. While he grants good wishes like reviving a dead person, he also grants evil wishes to many antagonists that will use them for their evil plots.
He is voiced by the late Kenji Utsumi in the Japanese version, and by Christopher R. Sabat in the English version.
Evil Wishes Granted by Shenron[]
- Make one person to rule the entire world: Several tyrants attempted to reunite the Dragon Balls to rule the World. Although Shenron wasn't shown granting this wish, the Pilaf Gang and the Red Ribbon Army attempted to use the Dragon Balls for this.
- Kill people: While it is not known if Shenron ever granted this wish, it has been mentioned that he can kill people or living beings with a power lower than his own if someone asks for it.
- Giving immortality to a villain: Shenron did this three times, first with King Piccolo, later with Garlic Jr. and the last time with Lord Slug. The three were tyrannical demons that after Shenron gave them immortality both became more powerful and attempted to use their power to conquer the Earth (and other planets in the case of Slug). King Piccolo to exterminate the humanity and Garlic Jr. to bring all species under his control.
- Releasing dangerous villains from their imprisonment: Shenron first grants Dr. Kochin the wish of defrosting Dr. Wheelo to modify the human race using their science. Later he grants Hoi the wish of opening the musical box that contains Tapion and one of the halves of Hirudegarn.
- Rejuvenate villains: Similar to the second evil wish. Shenron grants the Pilaf Gang the wish of being younger. While this wish is not evil itself, the Pilaf Gang did this so they could rule the World for longer. And if he turned them into babies incapable to do any evil (by the time), this was only because they did not specify the age and not for a heroic reason.
- Turning people into kids and babies against their will: Shenron grants Gomah the wish of turning the Z-Fighters into children (and into babies the ones that were actually children), so they will not be an obstacle for their plots.
- Giving items to villains for their plots: Gomah attempted to use his second wish to gei the Evil Third Eye. Although Shenron did not grant him this wish, this was because he only grants one wish to the people that are using the Dragon Balls for the first time and not for a good reason. Later, he gives one million zeni to the Pilaf Gang, While this wish is not evil in itself either, the Pilaf Gang asks this in part to continue with their villainy for the long haul.
- Reviving villains: Shenron grants Sorbet the wish of reviving Frieza, one of the most dangerous villains of Universe 7. After being revived he attempted to get revenge on Goku and the other Z-Fighters and destroyed the Earth.
