Sheridan (Japanese: セキドー Sekidō) is a minor antagonist of the Pokémon episode "Cheer Pressure". He is the leader of a Pokémon cheering squad who uses deceptive tactics to gain an advantage in battles.

In the Japanese version, he was voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa, while in the English version, it is unknown who he was voiced by.

Biography[]

Sheridan is known for leading a Pokémon cheering squad that claims to use cheering techniques to heal and boost Pokémon during battles. However, he secretly uses hidden Pokémon inside drums to manipulate the outcome of battles. These Pokémon, such as Makuhita, Shroomish, Roselia, and Vileplume, use moves like Helping Hand and Aromatherapy to assist the squad's Pokémon. To cover this, he used a mask and communications headset to give his Pokemon orders.

In the episode "Cheer Pressure", Ash and his friends encounter Sheridan and his squad during a local tournament, one of their members was Thatcher, a boy Ash had met prior. Sheridan uses his deceptive tactics to manipulate one trainer by knocking them out and assisting the other trainer by restoring their Pokémon's health. Team Rocket, having met Sheridan, enlist his help.

Jessie, disguised as a trainer, uses her Seviper to battle against Pikachu. Every time Seviper faints, the cheering squad uses the hidden Pokémon inside the drums to heal it. Max, having sensed something was wrong, observed from the sides. Having figured out what had happened, Max pushed the drums, exposing the hidden Pokemon. Sheridan's students are needless to say infuriated demanding their money back.

With his scheme uncovered, Sheridan's reputation is tarnished, and he is disqualified from the tournament. As the situation escalates, Sheridan decides to flee the scene to avoid facing the consequences of his actions.
