Tom Beasley also known as Sheriff Beasley is the secondary antagonist of the first season of Pretty Liars: Original Sin and an overarching antagonist in its second season; Summer School.
He was portrayed by Eric Johnson, who also played Jack Hyde in the Fifty Shades film series, Brady in Supernatural and Tyler in Ginger Snaps.
Biography[]
Tom Beasley was a student at Millwood High School, where he was a popular jock and boyfriend of Davie Adams. In his youth there, he raped fellow student, Angela Waters to prove his sexuality. This led to Davie and the others at the school further bullying and isolating Angela, which led to her commit suicide at a rave party.
Years later, Beasley became the Millwood sheriff and marries Martha Beasley. With Martha, he has twin daughters, Karen and Kelly, all of whom he is verbally and psychologically abusive towards. He abuses his position as sheriff to solicit underage boys for sex. He supervises Noa Olivar and the rest of the juvenile offenders during their community service sentence. He is seen by Noa having one of the underage boys in the community service program, giving him oral sex in his police car.
He gives Noa permission to go to the school dance and removes her ankle monitor for the night. At the dance, his daughter Karen hides in the rafters where she attempts to pour blood on Imogen Adams in revenge for her humiliation. There, she is attacked by Archie Waters, who pushes her to her death.
Beasley is furious over Karen's death and blames the Liars, becoming extra abusive to his family in the process, vowing to make them pay for what they had done. After Karen's death, Beasley's abuse towards his family becomes greater and he psychologically and verbally abuses his daughter, Kelly, who self-harms as a result.
Due to Kelly self-harming because her father's abuse, Faran confronts him and reveals that she knows he is soliciting minors for sexual favors. This leads to him having Faran's father arrested out of spiteful revenge. His crimes of sexually abusing minors and raping Angela Waters begin to come to the surface, leading to Beasley holding his wife and daughter hostage, planning to kill them and himself. Kelly angrily confronts him about his horrible actions, to which he shows no remorse and attempts to kill her. Martha stabs him twice to stop him, incapacitation him.
Beasley survives his injuries and is taken to the hospital to be treated. Archie Waters is also at the hospital being treated, but escapes his room and stabs Beasley to death before fleeing.
Personality[]
Tom Beasley is an abusive, controlling, and domineering predator, who abuses those around him. While he is shown to have some care for his daughter, Karen, due to them being more similar, he shows no care towards his wife, Martha, who he cheats on with other men, or his daughter, Kelly, telling Kelly that he wished she had died instead of Karen.
