Peter “Pete” Hooper or by his surname Sheriff Hooper is the secondary antagonist of The Mean One. He was the Sheriff of Newville and was the final victim of the titular character.

On the night of the murder of Cindy Lou Who, a young Hooper tells Cindy that monsters aren’t real when she tells him that a green monster that attacked her mom, Hooper gave her a gaslighting mantra, he believes that there was no monster then just a green ski mask without finding the person who killed her mother.
The Mean One[]
20 Years later, A middle aged Sheriff Hooper reunites with Cindy and her father, but her father apparently dislikes him from not believing his wife’s killer. Mayor McBean arrives to his office and complains Cindy’s presence threaten the town and sticks a sticker as a badge on him. Cindy confronts Peter by showing him her own blurry camera with a Sasquatch picture taken, but the pictures don’t convince Sheriff Hooper which he tells her not to ruin Newville and tells Cindy that she is trying to end Christmas. Cindy causes trouble for her and Sheriff Hooper with her adding a missing poster. Sheriff Hooper still will never believe Cindy from telling the truth about The Mean One, still believing there is no Christmas Monster on the loose. Him and Margie McBean are revealed to be co-conspirators. Although, both of them may know the Monster who killed Cindy’s Mom. Later that night, Burke confronts Hooper about the Mean One. Fortunately, Hooper admits he saw The Mean One himself 20 Years ago (finally admitting the truth) so he would appease the monster. And also admits that he had to lie to Cindy from the mayor. When Burke is getting chased by The Mean One holding a mistletoe. He shoots the Mean One to prevent him for killing Burke and teams up with him to escape from the Grinch’s Cave, he attempts to shoot him a few times.
Death[]
Sheriff Hooper dies from The Mean One by dismembering him by getting his arm torn off, and get nommed by him like a snack, giving him a taste of his own medicine.

- If Hooper was still alive, he would have been arrested by Burke along with Mayor McBean for their crimes.
