Serafettin, better known as Shero, is the titular main protagonist of the 2016 Turkish adult animated film Bad Cat, as well as the comic series of the same name. He is a short-tempered tabby cat who is obsessed with drinking booze, smoking, and having sex.
He was voiced by Uğur Yücel in Turkish, Don Battee in English and Takaya Kuroda in the Japanese dub.
Appearance[]
Shero is a yellow tabby cat with black stripes and sharp teeth and claws. His face is roundish with long eyebrows and a short, freshly shaved beard, and brown eyes (portrayed as hazel and yellow in some comics).
Personality[]
Shero is typically very arrogant, ignorant, nymphomaniac, and obnoxious. However, as the film progresses, his hard shell breaks and the goodness deep within his heart begins to emerge. Things like his love for Misscat, his love for his son, and the loyalty of his friends begin to reveal this side of him. Although he eventually opened up a little at the end of the movie, it seems that Shero still prefers to keep this soft side to himself.
In comics he was way more evil. He made more villainous acts than his movie counterpart.
Biography[]
Shero was given birth after his mother unexpectedly sat on a quack after her owner, Tank masturbated. Shero lives in Istanbul with his owner Tank and his best friends are a rat named Riza and a seagull named Rifki. He orders his friends to fetch him a bottle of booze, while he steals the fish from Tank's landlady, Hazel. Riza and Rifki head out in search for a bottle, to no avail.
Meanwhile, Shero's best friend, Blacky informs him about a beautiful Siamese cat named Princess owned by a cartoonist named Cartoonist. They head over there and break into the apartment. They try to seduce her, but she has a panic attack and ends up accidentally electrocuting herself (Shero raped her in the comics). When Cartoonist returns home, he finds Princess dead and decides to avenge her. Blacky tries to reason with him, but Cartoonist stabs him to death. Shero and Cartoonist get in a fight, and they fall out of the window. Cartoonist is killed, while Shero manages to survive.
Shero comes across a storekeeper named Semi and he introduces him to a kitten named Taco. Taco offers to have a home with him, but he rejects his offer and runs away. Shero and Tank get into an argument after Riza and Rifki fail to find any booze and Tank gets in trouble with Hazel. Hazel threatens to evict him and only gives him one day to pack his things. Tank confronts Shero and declares that he is now on his own as he locks every possible entry.
Shero spots a beautiful white cat named Misscat, who is being chased by a pair of dogs named The Dogs and heads after them. When she is cornered by the thugs, Shero comes by and flirts with her. The dogs begin insulting him and he retaliates by beating them up. Misscat kisses Shero as she leaves, and Shero falls in love (Cupid tried to shoot him but his arrow bounced of Shero and bad cat throwed a bottle at angel of love). Shero comes across Semi and offers booze. Semi gives him advice to get flowers. He breaks a window and steals some roses from dead turkeys.
Shero meets up with Misscat on the roof and they get captured by Cartoonist and the dogs. The dogs begin beating Shero and taunting him with insults until Misscat kicks them in the face. They retaliate by strangling her until Cartoonist stops them and attempts to electrocute them. However, Taco arrives in the nick of time and frees Shero. Shero manages to defeat Cartoonist and the dogs and throw them into a dumpster. Taco tells Shero about his mother, Mimosa, but Shero claims that he's unfamiliar with her and Taco runs off again. Taco returns and punches Shero in the face, much to his amazement and he finally decides to keep him.
While using Taco to buy booze from Semi's store, he suddenly gets kidnapped by Cartoonist and Shero gives chase. He manages to catch up to him on a pizza delivery man's motorcycle and manages to rescue Taco. The truck falls into the lake and he engages in an underwater fight with Cartoonist. He manages to defeat him and get back to shore.
They arrive at the apartment, only to discover Misscat gone and the balcony blocked by barbed wires. Riza and Rifki try to search for a bottle of booze once more, but their plan goes wrong. Shero waits for Misscat and they get into an argument until Riza comes up with a plan to get money.
Shero and his friends arrive at a bank and Riza sneaks in. He manages to get the keys and they enter the bank. Taco manages to unlock the code and they enter the vault, where Riza throws a dance party. When the police hear about the robbery, they head out and Rifki warns them. The trio manage to escape and Riza informs them to escape on top of a roof. However, they are completely surrounded by the cops and are pursued by Cartoonist. Shero manages to pull Cartoonist off the roof, but not before he fires a shot and Taco sacrifices himself. Shero, realizing that money caused all of this, throws away all of the money.
Shero mourns over Taco's apparent death and carries his unconscious body across the street until Tank comes by. All the vet clinics are closed, but they manage to cure him. Riza and Rifki arrive at the apartment and they argue with each other. Tank berates Shero for making them lose their home until Rifki shows them the remaining money and show it to Hazel.
They throw a barbecue and Shero is disappointed that Misscat won't come until Cartoonist shows up with a kidnapped Misscat tied up to Semi's gas tanks. Cartoonist tries to blow up the tanks, but Shero stops him and he and Tank beat him up. Tank throws Cartoonist into a dumpster and Shero lights a cigarette and throws it into the dumpster, causing the tanks inside to explode and kill him. Shero and Misscat then have sex and bounce around the globe, while lighting themselves on fire.
