~ Shine commanding Iron Claw to destroy JAKQ in the final episode. |
Shine is the de facto leader of Criminal Organization Crime and the main antagonist of J.A.K.Q. Dengekitai. He is an artificial intelligence entity from the second Star of the Shine Galaxy and the superior of Boss Iron Claw who intends to use CRIME as cover for his take over the Earth. He debuts in episode 23 in silhouette, but his true form is not revealed until the final episode.
He was voiced by Eiji Maruyama in his debut and in later episodes by Eisuke Yoda, who also voiced Führer Taboo in Dai Sentai Goggle V.
History[]
Shine had his subordinate Boss Iron Claw serve as the face of CRIME while he led it behind the scenes and used it for his plans to control Earth. After J.A.K.Q.'s continued interference in Crime's schemes, Shine appeared to inform Iron Claw that their "test run" was over and that it was time for them to begin taking over Earth. Shine thus sent his Invader Robots to take the place of Crime's Mechanical Monsters and redirected their focus from spreading Crime to dealing with the obstacles that stood in the way of his ambition, ISSIS and JAKQ. Shine would later direct Iron Claw to begin work on "Operation Stardust", a plan to use rockets to move the Earth out of orbit and into the Shine Galaxy where Shine's people could colonize it. He also sent the super cyborg Great King Icarus to oversee the completion of the operation and take Iron Claw's place as leader of CRIME, much to Iron Claw's displeasure.
After Icarus fled from a battle with JAKQ and was executed by Iron Claw, Shine appeared and demanded to know why Iron Claw had killed Icarus. Iron Claw stated that Icarus had acted cowardly by fleeing from battle, to which Shine agreed was a valid reason. Unperturbed by Icarus' loss, Shine declared to Iron Claw that if he completed Operation Stardust and defeated JAKQ, he would name him "Emperor of the Solar System". However, Iron Claw was captured by ISSIS and JAKQ while attempting to hold Joker's family hostage. While Iron Claw faced Big One, JAKQ launched a final attack on Crime Fortress Island to take out Shine and finally crush Crime. Spade Ace and Heart Queen made there way into the Crime Fortress' control room, where Shine revealed his true form as an alien satellite and attempted to attack the pair, only to be easily dispatched by Spade Ace with his "Spade Arts".
After destroying Crime Fortress Island and returning to Japan to assist Big One, JAKQ tossed Shine's true form down to Iron Claw and revealed that he was really an alien artificial intelligence. As Iron Claw picked him, Shine again declared to Iron Claw that he was Emperor of the Solar System and commanded him to finish off JAKQ. After Big One stated that Iron Claw was just a puppet, Iron Claw tossed Shine to the ground.

Trivia[]
- Though still intact and functioning, Shine is never seen after being tossed away by Iron Claw and his fate is never confirmed. Because of this, Shine remains one of the few Sentai main villains to survive his respective series, as well as the only Sentai main villain thus far to escape any form of punishment and survive without turning good.
