Shingleton is a supporting antagonist of the 1982 film First Blood. He is a Ligget County Sheriff Department deputy working for Will Teasle.
He was portrayed by David L. Crowley.
Biography[]
Following John Rambo's breakdown after suffering the abuse by the hands of Art Galt and several deputies, Shingleton tries to stop Rambo from escaping, but ends up being knocked down, much to his discomfort. He later aided Teasle, Ward, Balford, Orval Kellerman, and Mitch during a forest manhunt on Rambo following Galt's death. Despite learning that Rambo is a former Green Beret, Teasle refuses to give up his pursuit of Rambo and demanded Shingeton and his men to move on.
However, each of Teasle's men end up being ambushed by Rambo. After Ward gets his right shoulder maimed and Balford ends up being impaled on the legs by wooden spikes, Shingleton tries to follow Teasle to help Balford, but Rambo grabs him with a wire offscreen. Shingleton then ends up being tied up to a tree, wounded while weakly calling Teasle for help, much to Teasle's distraught. Eventually, Teasle was able to free Shingleton before having him and the others sent to the hospital for their injuries.
It is unknown what happened to Shingleton afterwards.
