Shinji is an antagonist in the Kunio-kun Japanese video game series. He is the leader of Bōsōzoku which is a gang of outlaw bikers.

History

In Shinji's first appearance, he is the boss of the second level in Nekketsu Kōha Kunio-kun. High school student Kunio searches Tokyo, Japan for the people who harmed his friend Hiroshi. It just so happens that Shinji and Bōsōzoku are among the culprits. Kunio finds them hanging out in the Yokohoma Port of Tokyo. The gang attempt to harm Kunio but he manages to single-handily defeat all of them. Shinji attempts to fight Kunio but he is also defeated. Afterwards, Kunio continues his search.

Shinji serves a more prominent role in the video game Shin Nekketsu Kōha: Kunio-tachi no Banka. Unlike the previous game, neither Shinji nor Bōsōzoku are responsible for harming Kunio's friend(s). Instead, they took over an amusement park in Tokyo. Kunio, Riki, and their girlfriends encounter Bōsōzoku while searching for Sabu. The quartet are attacked for stepping foot in the amusement park. They defeat the gangsters before finding Shinji in the race track section of the amusement. He is also defeated but uses his own motorcycle to retreat to his gang's hideout at Pier 13. Kunio, Riki, and their girlfriends give chase. They arrive at a warehouse which is also the hideout of Shinji and his gang. After defeating the remainder of Bōsōzoku, the group corners Shinji in the heart of the warehouse. He fights them but loses again. Riki threatens to give Shinji a black eye unless he reveals information about Sabu's partner Ken. Shinji claims to only know that they will die if they continue their search. Ignoring the threat, the quartet leave the warehouse without helping Shinji. Afterwards, Shinji and Bōsōzoku separate from each other.
