Shinsanpei Aura is an antagonist in the sequel manga/anime series Tokyo Ghoul:re. He is a member of the Quinx squad and an investigator of the C.C.G. alongside his aunt Kiyoko Aura. After Ken Kaneki defects from the C.C.G. and nearly kills his aunt, he develops an obsessive vengeance on Kaneki and gains a darker and sadistic personality.
He was voiced by Makoto Furukawa in the Japanese version, and Michael Jones in the English version.
Personality[]
Shinsanpei has a very shy demeanor to his personality as he is often nervous when he talks to other people but is very respectful and professional as he always respects his superiors and always tries to follow orders. This shy act can drop as he is very vengeful against Kaneki after he nearly kills his aunt by slicing off both her legs.
Shinsanpei began to develop sadistic tendencies of killing Kaneki by wanting to turn his remains into a qunique and giving it to his aunt. This is fully shown when he sadistically smiles at seeing "Haise Sasaki" being executed by Kichimura Washuu. He is also extremely hypocritical as he believes that he fights as a human but uses his quinx to kill other ghouls and even some of his fellow quinx members.
