Shion Yorigami (依神 紫苑) is a supporting antagonist from Touhou Project, being the secondary antagonist of Antimony of Common Flowers.
Shion is a poverty god who is the older twin of the Yorigami sisters. As a poverty goddess, Shion affects those she comes into contact with by bringing misfortune into their lives. However, her misfortune powers also affect her and cause her to be cursed with bad fortune, resulting in her living in a perpetually destitute state.
Biography[]
Shion Yorigami's sister Joon was the mastermind behind the "Perfect Possession" incident, which involved Shion using her poverty abilities to bring misfortune to the attendees of the Prismriver concert so she could rob them of their wealth. This drew a number of people to investigate the incident. Eventually, Shion and Joon's plan was uncovered by Yukari Yakumo, who brought Reimu with her to put a stop to them. Joon attempted to use "Perfect Possession" and force Shion to become Reimu's slave while she took control of Yukari, but Yukari had deduced what they were doing and manipulated the boundary between master and slave so that instead, it was Joon who became Reimu's slave and Shion enslaved Yukari, nullifying the powers of both Yorigami sisters. As a result, Reimu was able to defeat Shion and put an end to the incident.
Following the "Perfect Possession" incident, Shion became friends with Tenshi Hinanawi, who as a Celestial was unaffected by Shion's misfortune powers.
Personality[]
In Antinomy of Common Flowers, Shion is depicted as being largely submissive to Jo'on, going along with her younger sister's plan to rob the attendees of a Prismriver concert and having difficulty asserting herself as a result of her misfortune. After their plan was foiled however, Shion would befriend Tenshi and become less dependent on her sister, as well as taking a more optimistic view on life.
