Tokugawa Iemitsu is a villain in the second season of the TV show DC's Legend of Tomorrow. He is a shogun in feudal Japan, where he encounters and antagonizes Ray Palmer and most of the Legends.
He was portrayed by Stephen Oyoung.
When Ray Palmer accidentally arrives there, he is knocked out by the shogun's men and captured. He is brought before the shogun who has him interrogated by one of his men and takes Ray's armor for himself.
He later dispaches three of his men to take care of his betrothed, Masako Yamashiro, claiming that he does not want any other intruders to bother her. They indeed find Nate Heywood, whom they severely injure.
When the rest of the Legends arrive, they see the shogun wearing Ray's armor and mistake the man for Ray. However, the shogun reveals himself and orders his main samurai to defeat the enemies. When the samurai is defeated, the shogun attacks the group with Ray's suit, causing them to retreat.
To prevent the shogun from wedding Masako, who saved Nate when he was wounded, Nate decides to engage the shogun in a formal duel. When the shogun later arrives at the village to retrieve his bride, he finds the villagers gone and Nate opposing him. He shoots at Nate with the suit and uses an energy blast to knock him off his feet. He is then engaged by Ray Palmer, who has donned a traditional samurai armor. Before he can attack Ray, he is blasted off his horse by Mick Rory with his fire gun. While he sends his men to hunt Rory, he engages Ray on an open field. There, Ray's sword proves to be unable to pierce the shogun's armor.
However, the armor makes the shogun slower. Ray uses this advantage to stab a cooling system inside the armor, causing it to heat up. However, the Shogun then hurls Ray away. Ray's sword is picked up by Masako who engages him. She is swiftly defeated and the shogun is about to execute her when Nate turns up in his metal form and grabs the shogun's sword. Nate and Ray then both attack the shogun and Nate slices the back of the armor, causing it to overheat completely. The shogun is killed when the suit explodes.
- From his history studies, Nate knows that the shogun was a particularly brutal leader and also had a habit of murdering his wives.
