The Shopping Cart Rabbids, alternatively known as the Rabbid Duo, are the villainous main protagonists of the 2009 video game, Rabbids Go Home. They are a pair of Rabbids who seek to get themselves and the other Rabbids to the Moon by building a massive pile towards it, believing it to be their home. Throughout the game, the Shopping Cart Rabbids steal many items, including store products, dogs, cows, peoples' clothes, and a hospital patient named Barney. The Rabbids also regularly come to face against the Verminators after antagonizing the humans long enough.

They are voiced by Marcel Popo, who also voices all the other Rabbids.

Appearance[]

Both members of the Rabbid Duo are seen running around in a shopping cart. The Rabbid that pushes the cart wears a pair of red panties, while the Rabbid that's sitting in the cart wears a pair of striped gray boxers, though their appearance can be customized in the Rabbids Lab to the player's liking.

Biography[]

Prologue[]

At the start of the game, the Rabbid Duo are seen walking through the junkyard in their shopping cart, before the one in red panties notices the other standing in front of the Moon, and the two stare at it in awe. Afterwards, both Rabbids decide to build a pile up to the moon so that they and their fellow Rabbids can get to it, as they seem to believe it's their home. The rest of their Rabbid brethren then shows up, excited to help them with their goal. Afterwards, the Rabbid Duo start to collect various items such as traffic cones, construction equipment, and squids, to add to the first layer of the pile. The Rabbids then exit the junkyard to steal more stuff to add to their pile.

Area 1[]

In "Shop Till You Drop", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the storage area of a shopping mall, where they steal various items and strip the employees of their clothes. The Shopping Cart Rabbids then enter the main shopping area and steal many products off the shelves as well as the clothes of customers. They then go through the parking area to kidnap the manipulative intercom lady in her fake UFO, which they bring to the toilet back to the junkyard.

In "In the Nick of Time", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the headquarters of People Company Enterprises Inc., where they chase a woman named Sandra to her abusive boss's office, where they strip the two of their clothes and steal the boss's giant clock to bring back to the junkyard.

In "Infectious Blues", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a hospital, where they begin their pattern of kidnapping a sick patient named Barney in his bubble bed, much to the dismay of his girlfriend, Nurse Betty. The Rabbids then use Barney's Water Bed as a balloon to get themselves across many buildings back to the junkyard. The Rabbid Duo also gain an ally in the form of the Cannonball Rabbid, who they use as ammo to fire at whatever Wii-Remote is pointed at onscreen, usually gates and enemies.

In "Whack-A-Wabbid", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a pet shelter within the mall, and capture many dogs to be added to their pile. The Rabbids then enter the vents with help from the Blower Rabbid. After getting through the vents, the Rabbids come to face against a scared man who soon becomes the first Verminator, who attacks them in an attempt to save himself. After defeating the first Verminator, the Rabbids steal a diving board that they bring back to add to their pile.

In "Keep on Piling!", the Shopping Cart Rabbids learn the Super Boost, which allows them to dash into enemies and instantly defeat them. They then exit to the city again to continue their goal.

Area 2[]

In "Just Plane Dumb", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter and airport, where they steal various equipment, employees' clothes, and one girl's dog. The Rabbids then come to face with more Verminators, who the Rabbids quickly declothe before going to steal the airport's satellite dish.

In "Rabbid Fire Reaction", the Shopping Cart Rabbids push three people off a moving plane, seemingly killing them, before the gray boxers Rabbid whacks the shopping cart at one of the plane's jet engines, detaching it from the rest of the plane. Afterwards, the Rabbid Duo ride the jet into the airport, where they burn many humans with the jet engine. After the Verminators show up and the Rabbids defeat them, they manage to go through the interior pipes back to the toilet to the junkyard.

In "High Stakes Steak", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a building in the cold and begin stealing from it, before breaking through the windows and chasing after a truck to steal a cow it's transporting.

In "Bubble Bed Bonanza", the Shopping Cart Rabbids sneak up on a pair of vermipenguins in the hospital, who the Rabbids quickly scare off before stripping them of their clothes. The Rabbids then steal a baby carriage with an infant still in it, who the boxers Rabbid screams at before throwing in the cart. The Rabbids then kidnap Barney a second time and use his water bed to get themselves across many buildings back to the toilet leading to the junkyard.

In "Super Racket in the Market", the Shopping Cart Rabbids trespass onto a swimming pool on the top of a building, scaring everyone away. The elderly woman in a white dress thens asks man with a red shirt to do something since it's his home, to which he throws the woman's two dogs down to take care of the Rabbids against her will. After the Rabbids defeat and steal the dogs, they go on to steal the clothes off of everyone on the building, before entering the mall through an open vent. After stealing many products off the shelves and declothing the customers, the Rabbids then kidnap the mall's intercom lady in her UFO a second time and bring it back to the junkyard.

Area 3[]

In "Atomic Rabbid Blast", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a nuclear reactor, which the intercom guy notices and tries to inform his coworker Bob, only for Bob to try to test him for radiation poisoning. After getting into the work room and declothing the employees, the Rabbids take the elevator and steal a massive industrial light to take back to the junkyard.

In "Rules are for Tools", the Shopping Cart Rabbids once again enter the People Company Enterprises Inc. building. After destroying the Verminators' bomb cannon, the Rabbids chase Sandra to her Boss's office and steal his desk.

In "Totally Tubing", the Shopping Cart Rabbids steal a tire from a truck and attach it to their shopping cart before going down a hill, forcing them to use the tire to bounce off many gates to get to the other side back to the junkyard.

In "Apocalypse Cow", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the airport again and notice a cow while in the storage area. After jumping across the fans and declothing the Verminators and employees, the Rabbids steal the cow to bring back to the junkyard.

In "Furryous Fun", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the airport again and use the Blower Rabbid to launch themselves towards one of the jet engines on an airplane, which the gray boxers Rabbid whacks at with the shopping cart and dislodges. After the Rabbids ride the jet engine back into the airport and burn many humans with it like they did in "Rabbid Fire Reaction", a Verminator shoots a bomb at them, which gets stuck to the jet engine they're riding, forcing them to get back to the toilet that leads to the junkyard before the bomb explodes.

Area 4[]

In "Backwater Rabbids", the Shopping Cart Rabbids go through a sewage pipe within a polluted forest, which leads them into trespassing onto a restricted area of the building, causing the intercom lady to get increasingly more frustrated with them until they steal the boiler and take it back to the junkyard.

In "Bubble Bed Blues", Barney's bed is seen still being transported through the sewage system while Betty desperately tries to reach him. The Rabbids, also being in the sewage system, chase after Barney to get his bubble bed back. When the Rabbids find an angry guard dog stuck to a pole, they steal it and the gray boxers Rabbid spins the dog so fast that its neck twists before throwing it into the cart. After getting past the rest of the sewers, the Rabbids find Nurse Betty with Barney next to an elevator, and kidnap him before taking said elevator. The Rabbids then use Barney's bed to get themselves across the rest of the interior platforms and back to the junkyard.

In "Time is Money, Honey", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the People Company Enterprises Inc. building through the vents and chase Sandra to her Boss's office to steal the statue he has of himself.

In "County Free-For-All", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a large park and repeatedly assault a mall Santa named Joe in order to get the red pipes to bring to the Blower Rabbid to help them get to someone's broken-down car, which the Rabbids steal and bring back to the junkyard.

In "Hoppy XMas", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the hospital once again through the vents, this time to steal a Christmas tree in one of the rooms.

In "Cow-tch Me If You Can", the Shopping Cart Rabbids chase after a truck carrying a cow in the city. When the Rabbids successfully steal the cow, a Verminator shows up and shoots a bomb at the cow's head, forcing the Rabbid Duo to the toilet leading to the junkyard before the bomb explodes.

Area 5[]

In "Rabbids Go Boom", the Shopping Cart Rabbids go through the pipes of an airport to steal a piano.

In "Fetchez La Vache", the Shopping Cart Rabbids steal a cow at a construction site and bring it back to the junkyard after dealing with the Verminators.

In "Hard-Hat Helping", the Shopping Cart Rabbids go through a construction site and steal a storage tank of gasoline.

In "Haredevil Rabbid", the Shopping Cart Rabbids once again steal a car tire and attach it to their shopping cart before going down a hill and having to use the tire to bounce themselves up to the toilet leading back to the junkyard.

In "Hold Up in the Hangar", the Shopping Cart Rabbids once again enter the airport, which Mr. Director notices and orders Schmidt to take care of them. The Rabbid Duo then defeat and steal a number of helmeted guard dogs. Once again, defeating one of the dogs leads to the grey boxers Rabbid grabbing it by the tail and swinging it until its head twists. After making it through the level, the Rabbids manage to steal an entire pair of landing wheels for an airplane.

In "14-Carrot Rabbid", the Shopping Cart Rabbids once again enter the People Company Enterprises Inc. building and chase Sandra to her boss's office, at which point the boss grabs his entire safe and makes a run for it before attempting to defend his safe with a pair of Vermitanks, only for the Rabbids to defeat them, forcing the boss to run away in fear while the Rabbids steal his safe full of money.

Area 6[]

In "Till Rabbids Do Us Cart", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter a wedding venue during Betty and Barney's wedding. After destroying the Verminator cannon blocking them from the entrance, the Rabbid Duo begin to assault and declothe the attendees before kidnapping Barney for the final time and using his water bed to get themselves across many exotic buildings back to the toilet leading to the junkyard.

In "Carry-On Catastrophe", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the airport again to steal a glass case with a Chinese pot inside.

In "Scrap Happy Rabbids", the Shopping Cart Rabbids enter the airport for the final time to steal an entire airplane. After stealing enough items to give to the Collector Rabbid, the Rabbid Duo are able to use the Blower Rabbid to get to the plane, which they somehow manage to carry and bring back to the junkyard through the toilet.

In "Moo-Ning Miami", the Shopping Cart Rabbids once again chase a track carrying a cow and, after stealing it, a Verminator shoots a sticky bomb onto them, forcing them to go through a mansion and back to the toilet leading to the junkyard.

Ending[]

In the final level, "King of the Pile!", the Shopping Cart Rabbids reenter the junkyard, only to find the Verminators have raided it. After getting past the first wave of Verminators, the Rabbid Duo steal a cow and make their way up to the top of pile while being shot at with many Verminator cannons. After reaching the top, the Rabbid Duo, along with the rest of their Rabbid brethren, are distraught to find that their massive pile hasn't gotten them to the Moon. Immediately afterwards, the Verminators have their many cannons shoot sticky bombs at the junk pile, blowing it up and sending the Rabbids into space, but not before much of the stuff the Rabbids stole falls back to Earth, nearly crushing the humans in the area. Afterwards, the Rabbid Duo, along with the rest of their fellow Rabbids, realize that they've finally made it to the moon, and dance as they slowly drift towards it.

Trivia[]

  • The Rabbid Shopping Cart Duo only appear in the Wii and PC versions of Rabbids go Home, as the DS port is a puzzle game involving only one Rabbid in a shopping cart, and the promotional flash game Rabbids to the Moon! lets you play as one of three different Rabbids.
  • At one point, there was going to be a level where the Shopping Cart Rabbids would enter a cemetery to steal a casket, though it ultimately cut, likely for being too dark.
