Shoreline are the main antagonists of the 2016 video game Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, the fourth installment of the Uncharted video game series, and the secondary antagonists of its 2017 follow-up Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
It is a private military company led by Nadine Ross, throughout the game, Shoreline was hired by Rafe Adler in his search of pirate colony Libertalia.
History[]
Background[]
Prior to A Thief's End, Nadine was the leader of Shoreline after her father, the original founder died. During her career, Shoreline took many security and military contracts around the world. The company also fought Victor Sullivan before, but Nadine did not hold a grudge when they met again in an Italian auction house. Unlike her father, Nadine did not participate in arm deals.
A Thief's End[]
During A Thief's End, Rafe hired Shoreline to find Libertalia and Henry Avery's treasure, while Nathan Drake, with his brother Sam, were also looking for the treasure. They encountered and battled Shoreline contractors multiple times, from Scotland to Madagascar. Eventually, Nate, Sam and Rafe learned of Libertalia's location. Rafe travelled to the island with Nadine and the rest of Shoreline shortly after the Drake brothers.
Both factions eventually arrived at the ruins of Avery's ship, but due to a number of traps and most of the Shoreline soldiers were all killed by Nate and Sam, Nadine refused to help Rafe to loot the ship, and wanted to leave the island. However, Rafe forced Nadine to help him when he revealed that he bought her men (included Orca) ahead of time, they boarded the ship and activated more traps, which resulted in more soldiers dying in there. Nadine eventually abandoned Rafe and left the island on her own, while Nate killed Rafe to save his brother. Orca became the new leader of Shoreline and escaped the island with the remaining soldiers.
The Lost Legacy[]
During The Lost Legacy, Shoreline was hired by Indian insurgent leader Asav, and had managed to stay afloat via selling weapons to his insurgent army. After the deal, Orca stays in his chopper, while his men and a group of insurgents that Asav had ordered to stay behind search for any threats. Chloe, Nadine and Sam managed to kill all of the remaining Shoreline contractors and their insurgent allies and crashed his chopper. With Orca wounded, Nadine demands him to hand over the Tusk of Ganesh, but he threw it away as he pulls out a spare gun to kill them, only to be ironically killed by his former boss instead.
With Orca's death and most of his men dead, Shoreline was presumably disbanded.
