Shovelloid is the minor antagonist of the Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters, appearing in Episode 1 as the primary antagonist. His alternate version serves as the minor antagonist of the V-Cinema movie Tokumei Sentai Go-Busters Returns vs Dōbutsu Sentai Go-Busters. He was the shovel themed Metaloid, under the command of Messiah and Enter. He was created by Enter to attack Tokyo and destroy the Busters. He was the first Metaloid to be fought by the Busters team.

He is voiced by Takashi Nagasako who previously voiced Inventor Grotch, an Antlion Nezire, Kairikibou, Garubaria, Energy Thief Uugo, Gomubi-Ron, Algolian Baurbon, Maga, an Incinerator Banki, Rokuroneri, Tomarezu of the Tsuchinoko, Shieldon and later voiced Debo Royaroya, an Advanced Yokai Oumukade, Gabatt Kababacci, a Beef Rib World and the Great Beef Rib World. His alternate version Shoveloader was voiced by Tatsuya Takagi.

Biography

Shovelloid was created by Enter by infecting a power shovel with the "Kaziru" Metavirus. Enter was running and tried to escape from Ryuji Iwasaki and Yoko Usami, who were sent by the Energy Management Center. When Enter was escaping and running from Ryuji and Yoko, he infected the power shovel and created this Metaloid monster. His hydraulic bucket arm could cause massive collateral damage as he"bites" through objects. Enter then sent Shovelloid to attack the Tokyo and destroy the Busters.

Shovelloid later attacked the Tokyo and Ryuji and Yoko were sent by the Energy Management Center to stop him. Shovelloid attacked the city and started trashing the cars and buildings and scaring the citizens who ran away from him. He then encountered the Blue and Yellow Busters. Shovelloid managed to overpower Ryuji and Yoko in their fight. Ryuji and Yoko were alerted to the countdown to the arrival of a Vaglass-affiliated MegaZord, but they were are unable to stop the Metaloid in time as the ShovelZord appeared. The Busters tried to defeat the Metaloid until the ShovelZord, who was detected by the Energy Management Center, would arrive, but they failed. Shovelloid overpowered the two Busters and ShovelZord arrived. Things seemed hopeless as the MegaZord attacked the Enetron Facility Tank until, after seeing his hospitalized sister about making his decision to fight for everyone's sake, Hiromu Sakurada contacted the Energy Management Center to launch the CB-01 Buster Vehicle. Hiromu then arrived on Cheeda Nick and shot out Shovelloid's eye. However, he then had to deal with the newly arrived ShovelZord whilst Shovelloid continued his assault but was less effective with his optic receptor gone. Hiromu then transformed into the Red Buster and, together with Nick, they entered the CB-01 and transform the car into the Go-Buster Ace to fight the ShovelZord. Using its Buster Animal mode to catch its opponent off guard, Go-Buster Ace destroyed ShovelZord as the other Busters took care of the Shovelloid. Shoveloid was ultimately deleted at the same time that ShovelZord was shut down, hit by two charged shots from both Ryuji and Yoko's Ichigan Busters.

Shoverloader

Shoveloader is an alternate version of Shoveloid which existed as part of the Machine Empire Mechalius, the evil force replaced Vaglass in the alternate reality of the Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters. Despite Vaglass never having existed due to the accident that created Messiah never happening, all monsters in the organization resembled the Metaloids. Under the leadership of Machine Empress Trange Star, he led the initial invasion and was defeated by the Doubutsu Sentai Go-Busters who use the Animal Bazooka's "Animal Organic Shooting" to destroy him. He was then revived and enlarged by Maintainloader's "Bikkuri Oil" so the Go-Busters form Go-Buster Animal. With it, they destroyed Shovel Loader with the Go-Buster Animal Impact.

Trivia

• Shoveloid and Shoveloader were named after their base machines.
• Shoveloid's suit was reused 9 years later for an unnamed Kikainoid in Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger.
