Shu (シュウ Shū) is a supporting antagonist in the Dragon Ball franchise. He is an anthropomorphic dog shinobi that trains normal dogs and a member of the Pilaf Gang, who along Mai tries to help his boss, Emperor Pilaf, to rule the world.

Appearance[]

Shu is an anthropomorphic shiba inu dog who has orange fur except in his snout where is beige and his tail where is white. He always wears a blue shinobi shozoku with a katana in his bag. In Dragon Ball he is adult and thus, he has an adult appearance. In Dragon Ball GT he is actually old and has an older body with his clothes worn. In Dragon Ball Super he turns into a child again, so he has a young body and his clothes are adjusted to the child's size.

Personality[]

Shu is shown to be loyal to Pilaf and he always follows him on his plots. At the beginning it seems that he was loyal for fear to his punishes, but later is shown that he actually cares for him. Shu also has a good friendship with Mai since both make a good team. Shu, just like Mai, has some disapproval to Pilaf's reckless plans and usually tries to argue with him, but Pilaf doesn't pay attention to his warnings. At the beginning, Shu confronted the Dragon Team members being confident on his resources, but as Goku became stronger, he became afraid of him.

Biography[]

Dragon Ball[]

Sometime before the beginning of the series. Shu was recruited by Pilaf from a want ad. In the first episode, the gang finds the first Dragon Ball in a dungeon, then they learn that they need to find the other six to summon Shenron. In several anime-only scenes, Shu and Mai tries to steal the other Dragon Balls to the Z-Fighters, but they always failed and they were severaly punished by Pilaf. When the Dragon Team was in the Mushroom Forest (where the Pilaf Castle is located), Shu uses a Pilaf Machine to steal the rest of the Dragon Balls that they need (except the Sì Xīngqiú that was carried by Son Goku). After trapping the Dragon Team on their castle, Shu witnesses the summon of Shenron and how Pilaf almost asks his wish, only to be sabotaged by Oolong, who asks for a pair of panties. Shu then calls some of his trained dogs to capture the Dragon Team and uses his sword along Mai's weapons to trap them. However, that night Goku looks to the full Moon and turns into a Oozaru, destroying the Pilaf Castle and forcing Shu and the others to go away.

8 months later, the Pilaf Gang adquired a flying fortress and Shu is the one who pilots it. While they are trying to reunite the Dragon Balls again, he shoots Goku when he was chasing Pilaf and Shu. Then Shu impersonated Goku to infiltrate his gang in his wedding organized by Gyumao. He distracts the people while Pilaf finds the Dragon Ball just when they were attacked by the Red Ribbon Army. Shu escapes after Pilaf obtains the Dragon Ball but then they ared defeated by Colonel Silver. After Goku destroyed the Red Ribbon Army the Pilaf Gang managed to get the last Dragon Ball and keep it in a box that avoids the signal of the Dragon Radar. After they find that Goku's weakpoint is his tail, they devise a strategy to pull his tail using their Pilaf Machines. Shu was the one who was going to do this step, but he found that he don't have a tail anymore (since Grandpa Gohan actually removed his tail. Then the Pilaf Gang is defeated again and Shu had to give his clothes to Goku, since Goku's clother were burned in battle.

Three years later, the Pilaf Gang releases King Piccolo from his Electronic Jar, and teams up with him so he could help them to rule the world. Shu believes that this is a bad idea since King Piccolo is too dangerous but Pilaf doesn't listed him as usual. Then, Shu's fears becomes true since King Piccolo betrays them and sends them out of their airplane.

Other three years later, Shu helps Pilaf to get the Fire-Eater egg to sell it to a very expensive cost. When they find it, Shu and Mai are defeated by Chi-Chi. Later, Shu accompanies Pilaf to steal the Bansho Fan to Goku, since they believe that this will be a powerful object if Goku wants it. After being defeated by Goku in Mount Frappe, Shu steals the Bansho Fan just when Goku and Chi-Chi found it. Then Shu uses it and sees that it only generates wind, so he gives it back to Goku.

Mystical Adventure[]

In a parallel world, Shu appears at the beginning of the movie along Pilaf and Mai, making a Dragon Radar for Tsurusen'in and Tao Pai Pai. When they finished, Tao betrays them and attacks them. Since they were not seen again. It is unknown if Shu was killed by Tao or if he survived.

Almost one year later, Shu is teleported by Goku to New Planet Plant to save him from the explosion of the Earth caused by their former wish with the Black Star Dragon Balls.

After this, it is presumed that Shu died from natural causes before the events of "A Hero's Legacy".

Dragon Ball Super[]

Is revealed that sometime before, the Pilaf Gang managed to summon Shenron and decided to became young again, since they were so old to rule the World. But since they didn't specified how young they turned again into babies. When they have 11 years physically, The gang tries to steal the Dragon Balls in Bulma's birthday party. There he befriended Trunks and Goten. In the party, they were sent away by Beerus' rage, failing once again.

One year later, the Pilaf Gang was finding again the Dragon Balls to gain more money when they are forced by Sorbet and Tagoma to team up with them and use their wishes to revive Frieza and King Cold. After Frieza was revived, Pilaf asks for the money and they became rich. Then Shu and his partners leaves.

When the Pilaf Gang hears that Goku had a strange sickness, they decided to attack him with their new Pilaf Machine. When they are finding him in Gohan's house, they found Pan and they kidnapped her before being found by Chi-Chi. They fly in the Pilaf Machine to the stratosphere and this explodes. They are saved by Pan.
