Highness Duke Org Shuten (ハイネスデュークオルグ シュテン Hainesu Dyūku Orugu Shuten) is a major antagonist of Hyakujuu Sentai Gaoranger and the main antagonist of the season's first arc (1-14), he was the first Highness Duke to be awakened, and he was an eye-themed Highness Duke Org.
He was voiced by Tetsu Inada, who also previously voiced Hijacker Nabokov and Poacher Master Hunter in Mirai Sentai Timeranger and later voiced Bakudandelion in Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger, Hades Warrior God Ifrit in Mahou Sentai Magiranger, Engine Banki in Engine Sentai Go-Onger and Targate of the Satellite in Tensou Sentai Goseiger.
Biography[]
Early life[]
Thousands of years before the events of the series, Shuten was one of the leaders of Org armies, that invaded Animarium and desired to pollute and enslave the Earth. However, the entire demonic armies were bested by the protectors of Animarium and the original Gaorangers. After seeing that they lost the war with humanity, Shuten decided, under the unknown circumstances, but likely to save himself, Shuten sealed himself in the stone of the Org Matrix.
Gaoranger[]
After the few defeats at the hands of Gaorangers, TsueTsue and Yabaiba ressurected Shuten, awakening the Duke Org and the ancient demon reassumed his command over the Tribe of demons. Immediately after his awakening, Shiten attacked Tokyo and encountered the Gaorangers. Shuten easily bested the Rangers team, before starting searching for the powerful green artefact, which was a stone laying on the shrine. However, once the demonic warlord touched the stone and scroll, they burned Shuten's hands and he left them being dropped to Kakeru's legs and Gao Red picked them up and showed to his team. While swearing his vengeance, Shuten contacted TsueTsue, Yabaiba and Tire Org and ordered them to retrieve the stone from the Rangers. This scheme was also unsuccessful and GaoElephant was ultimately revived by using the stone, before joining the Rangers's team and their Gao Animals.
Shuten continued to lose his temper and raging , more and more when the Gaorangers were obtaining GaoGiraffe, GaoPolar and GaoBear. The demon ordered Yabaiba and TsueTsue to find the ideal Orgs with one of his detached eyes, but these attempts were again unsucessfull and everything that warlord managed to achieve was angering the Org Master with his repeated failures and defeats at the hands of Gaorangers. Shuten desired to redeem himself and restore the trust of his master to him and so the Highness Duke created a plan of defeating the Gaorangers once and for all. Shuten attacked Tokyo and fought the Gaorangers. At first the demon easily gained the upper hand by blocking the GaoSoul, knocking the Rangers around in human form whilst the Dukes stole the heroes's Gao Jewels. At the last second, Pyochan restored the Gao Souls, before Kakeru managed to destroy and defeat Shuten with the Gao Mane Buster. However the evil spirit refused to accept his defeat and Shuten takes TsueTsue's staff to perform the Highness Duke secret technique to enlarge at full power. Despite his arrogance and confidence, Shuten was no match for the Soul Bird powered GaoMuscle and GaoKing. Although the tyrant survived the Super Animal Heart, Shuten was killed by the newly awakened Highness Duke Org Ura, who drained and absorbed all of his powers. The first half of the season ended with Shuten dies and Ura assumes command over Org Tribe.
Shuten was later resurrected alongside Ura and Rasetsu in the finale of the season, and fought Kakeru and Gaku. The demon attempted to protect the red idol on the mountain that powered the barrier, which was protecting the Org Matrix. Despite the villain was killed by the Hundred Beast Sword alongside Ura and Rasetsu, TsueTsue used the Org Heart to fuse the Highness Dukes's body parts together to create Ultimate Org Senki, the final and most powerful enemy the Gaorangers ever faced. However, despite their initial defeat at the hands of Senki, the Gaorangers eventually managed to defeat and destroy Senki, ending the Orgs's tyranny for good.
