Sickle-and-Chain Barnaby is a minor antagonist in the Cruise Adventure Arc from the Spy × Family series. He's a brutish assassin wielding a Kusarigama who was hired by Leonardo Hapoon to kill Olka Gretcher and her infant son on the Princess Lorelei Cruise. He confronts Yor Forger in front of the public, but is very quickly defeated and incapacitated by her.
He's voiced by Masafumi Kobatake in the anime.
Appearance[]
Barnaby is a tall and wide-bodied man with vacant yellow eyes. His hair is a shade of brown-black and he also has a beard. There are two scars on his left eye.
Personality[]
Barnaby stands out for being wild and ruthless. Although he trusts in the superiority that his strength gives him, his mood fades quickly if he encounters someone stronger.
Biography[]
He notices Yor, Zeb, Olka and Gram while they're passing by the shopping store. At first he doesn't do anything and just walks by, but after a short time he attacks. Although he manages to force Yor in his encounter with her, he is defeated in the end. Yor catches him using his own chains and knocks him out.
Trivia[]
- Barnaby is one of the only two assassins in the arc to have seemingly survived the arc, having been just incapacitated, as all the others appear to have been killed by Yor and Snoops and the Assassin Leader were presumably killed by the sharks in the end. The other assassin who appears to have survived is Andre, who was incapacitated by Yor in the ballroom.
- Barnaby's voice actor, Masafumi Kobatake has previously voiced Kris in the anime, who was one of the members of Keith Kepler's terrorist cell in the Doggy Crisis Arc. He also shares a voice actor with Yor's boss in the City Hall, Chief Barnes.
