Robert Underdunk Terwilliger Jr. better known as Sideshow Bob is the overarching antagonist of the The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror XXXIV in the segment "Ei8ht".
He is an alternate version of his original counterpart who successfully murdered Bart Simpson in the episode "Cape Feare", which would play a role in driving his sister, Lisa, insane.
Like his mainstream counterpart, he was voiced by Kelsey Grammer, who voiced his Treehouse of Horror XXVI version in the same series, Stinky Pete in Toy Story 2, Rothbart in Barbie of Swan Lake, Harold Attinger in Transformers: Age of Extinction and Hunter in Storks.
Background[]
His past is presumed to be identical to that of his mainstream counterpart's up to the episode "Cape Feare". Trivia[]
- Unlike his main version, who always escapes from prison, this Sideshow Bob never left prison after killing Bart Simpson in 1993, remaining locked up until his murder in 2023. Most likely, this may have to do with the fact that whereas his main version has never actually succeeded in killing anyone, this Bob did kill Bart, so the authorities most likely placed him under maximum security to prevent him from harming anyone else ever again, plus Bob most likely didn't even try to escape due to having achieved his goal to kill Bart.
- By extension, Bob's life imprisonment indirectly means that his marriage to Francesca Terwilliger and their son Gino's birth didn't happen in this continuity, as Bob moved to Italy seasons after the events of "Cape Feare". In addition, his arrest may have led his brother Cecil to desist from seeking vengeance against him for being chosen Krusty the Clown's aide, as Bob pretty much ruined his reputation by killing Bart here.
- In the opening scene, the artstyle is accurately changed to fit "Cape Feare", even using the 4:3 ratio until Bob realizes Bart's ploy. This was praised by fans for keeping the scene accurate to the original episode.
