That's a strange question coming from you. It ain't your first day in the Zone, but you're asking me about Sidorovich? Hell, everyone knows Sidorovich! He's the most respected trader in the whole Zone! If he can't fulfill your shopping needs, nobody can.
~ Wolf
What is this shit?
~ Sidorovich's most famous quote

Sidorovich is the deuteragonist of the Ukrainian FPS Survival Horror franchise S.T.A.L.K.E.R..

Sidorovich is a legendary Traders and one of the most well-known stalkers in the whole Zone, known for his reliable and his mercantile personality.

Personality[]

Sidorovich is a greedy and mercantile and uncaring individual. He doesn't believe in the local legends and myths, viewing the Zone as a business opportunity. Sidorovich doesn't care about the stalkers who work for him, as it was shown with Shustry: When Shustry and his small group disappeared on his quest, Sidorovich casually said to Mechenyj to find the flash that Shustry was caring, and that Mechenyj simply need to bring him the flash from Shustry, dead or alive. Even though, Sidorovich through corruption kept a fragile "peace" between regular stalkers and the Military, it's purely pragmatic as hostility between the stalkers and the Military can hurt his business. Sidorovich is very prideful of his ability to deal with problems without appearing there personally. Also, Sidorovich doesn't hesitate to kill people who threats his reputation, and business or simply suspicion individuals.

However, despite all his bad sides, Sidorovich is far from pure evil: He is honorable, always keeping his promises and brings the "best of the best" equipment for his clients. Sidorovich also was one of the individuals who raised the life expectancy of stalkers in the Zone, making the life in the Zone much easier than it was in the first years. Also it seems that sometimes he can show genuine caring for his "workers" as he teaches Mechenyj about anomolies and warns him about Mutants before sending the latter on quests. He also aids Mechenyj in his quest of finding Strelok by sending him to the Barkeeper.

Appearance[]

Sidorovich is a middle-aged man with a goatee that wears a dirty, light-colored shirt with a darker vest over it. In Clear Sky, he is bald.

Biography[]

Sidorovich came to the Zone in 2006 and became one of the first people in the Zone, started as a regular stalker, but didn't pass farther than the Cordon and Garbage and quickly realized that stalking, and due to his age. He decided to stay on the Cordon and become a Trader.

For the next few years earned a reputation of a competent and a reliable Trader. He established connections, including the Military to smuggler stuff from the border: First with Major Khaletskiy, then with the commander on the outpost.

Clear Sky[]

In 2011, Sidorovich got a contract from a "serious client" on a very rare artifact, which he tasked for a group of stalkers. The stalkers found the artifact, but Major Khaletskiy, who was supposed to smuggler it through the border, decided to take the goods for himself. He leaked the info about the stalkers to the bandits, who later ambushed and killed the stalkers, before handing the package to Khaletskiy. Somewhere at that time, a stalker named Klyk came to Sidorovich to buy enhancers and other electronic devices. Sidorovich didn't had them and send Klyk to Garbage, to the Diggers. Someone, somehow found out about Sidorovich's talk with Klyk and reported it to Lebedev, Clear Sky's leader, who later send Scar to investigate.

The Trader discovered Scar coming from the Swamps, surprised about his arrival from the Swamps and warned him about the Military outpost nearby, and when Scar arrived to the Village, advised him to pay a visit. When Sidorovich discovered that Scar was searching for Klyk, the stalker that was at his bunker prior, Sidorovich offered a deal: Scar will help him for the information about Klyk. After Scar helped Sidorovich in returning the package from Major Khaletskiy, who at the time was captured by Loners, Sidorovich as he promised told Scar that Klyk went to Garbage.

Shadow Of Chernobyl[]

In 2012, the Military based at the Institute in Agraprom, Sidorovich sent a group of stalkers under the leadership of Shustry to spy on the Military. On the way back Shusrty's Group were ambushed by bandits and the information was stolen. Somewhere at that same time, an unknown stalker from the "Death Tracks" was brought to Sidorovich took care of the stalker and named him "Mechenyj" or the "Marked One" referring to his tattoo. After Mechenyj woke up, Sidorovich made him work for him, and firstly send him after the information from Shustry, who was held hostage by bandits. Then, he send Mechenyj to Agraprom to stole important documents from the Military and bring them to his partner, Barkeep, while he himself, looked for information about Strelok. Sidorovich told him about a stalker named Lis, who asks for help and probably knows something about Strelok. Sidorovich contacts Mechenyj later, after the latter took the documents from X-18, to warn him about the Military blockade of the location where X-18 is. He suggested Mechenyj to use the old way to the Cordon through the south gates of the Dark Valley.

The last time Sidorovich is seen is when Mechenyj accidently teleports to his bunker from ChNPP-2, only for Sidorovich to scream "Mechenyj, what the hell?!"

Call Of Pripyat[]

Sidorovich doesn't appear in the game itself but is mentioned throughout the gameplay:

  • Shustry can tell about his life, including the time he worked for Sidorovich.
  • On a question, where to find tools, many stalkers will advice to stop by Cordon to Sidorovich.
  • On some accusations stalkers will complain about prices being higher than at Sidorovich's.
  • In stalker jokes mentioned, that Soldiers rob stalkers and sell it to Sidorovich.

Trivia[]

  • In Shadow Of Chernobyl due to a bug, Sidorovich can sell a Thunder 5.45 with a 10% chance, only before the completing the very first quest. Thus gives the player the ability to buy one of the strongest weapons in the game right at the start.
    • Which makes this even more bizarre, this weapon appears only twice throughout SoC, in which one of them is this time.
