Siegried AKA Hibiki Kugenin was one of the Eight Fists of Ragnarök holding the position of the fifth fist.

Summary[]

Siegfried is known as the "immortal composer" due to his love of music and rumored ability to keep fighting no matter how much he his injured. Loki recruits Siegfried to help him destroy the newly formed Shinpaku Alliance. While doing so, the two fists discover Niijima spying on them, and Siegfried chases him when he flees. Niijima attempts to escape Siegfried by attacking him with weapons and even a stun gun, but each time Siegfried gets back up without injury and he captures Niijima. Loki, believing the Shinpaku Alliance's weakness is a lack of loyalty to its leader, plans to deport Niijima out of Japan by having Siegfried place him on a cargo ship. When Kenichi and Miu arrive at the docks to save Niijima, Siegfried reveals their plan (Much to Loki's annoyance) and agrees to reveal which ship Niijima is one if Kenichi defeats him. While Miu pursues Loki, Kenichi battles Siegfried, but none of his attacks seem to faze the fight fist and he takes several counterattacks. Remembering advice from Sakaki, Kenichi purposefully throws off the rhythm of the fight and in doing so discovers Siegfried reads his opponent's rhythm and timing to avoid at the last second while faking being hit by his opponent's attacks to put on the illusion of being invulnerable and land his counterattacks. Kenichi manages to defeat Siegfried by using his overconfidence to get at point blank range and combine multiple martial arts into a new punch technique (latter dubbed the Mubyōshi) that Siegfried is unable to counter and knocks him out cold. Despite losing, Loki's plan initially succeeds as the ship Niijima is on leaves before Kenichi and Miu can find it and Niijima is sent out to sea until a series of hijinks bring him back. After his loss, Siegfried quits Ragnarök to go on a training journey.

While training by the sea, Siegfried is found by Niijima and swayed to the side of the Shinpaku Alliance by inspiring him with music. Soon after joining, Siegfried impersonates Hermit and defeats several Ragnarök thugs as part of Niijima's plan to coerce Hermit to join the Shinpaku Alliance, but it only ends up aggravating Hermit. Siegfreid later joins the Shinpaku Alliance's attempt to have Kisara join them. When Niijima attempts to blackmail Kisara with photos of her fawning over cats, Siegfried surprisingly destroys the blackmail material and explains (in song) that he doesn't wish for Niijima to sink to Ragnarök's level and instead successfully convinces Kisara to join the Shinpaku Alliance by bribing her with three cats and offering to take care of them along with his many other pets at his house.

When Ragnarök launches its final attack to destroy the Shinpaku Alliance, Siegfried rescues Niijima from the second fist Berserker and battles him. Despite his best efforts, Siegfried is no match for the fearsome street brawler, and he resorts to using a suicide attack to try and drown both him and Berserker in a nearby river. This plan fails when Berserker unleashes his Berserk Mode, a state of adrenaline and rage that drastically powers him up, and breaks free, leaving Siegfried to drown. Siegfried is rescued by the masters of Ryōzanpaku and taken to the infirmary. Despite his injuries, Siegfried refuses to stay in the infirmary and eventually, with some help from the elder, is brought to the final battle between Ragnarök and helps fight off the many underlings while Kenichi defeats Odin.

Personality[]

Siegfried is an eccentric and passionate person with a great love of music. His love of music is so great he can compose music through the inspiration he receives in battle and vocalizes when he fights. This passion even extends to how he understands being people, with Niijima winning him over by playing music that inspired him and describing people's true emotions as melodies. He is immensely loyal to those who have earned his support, being willing to fight to protect them despite being severely injured by Berserker.

Abilities[]

Rhythm reading - Siegfried has the ability to read the rhythm and timing of his opponents attack like music and uses this ability to dodge all incoming attacks. This ability is so honed, Siegfried was initially believed to be invincible. This ability also gives him insight into other's personalities and feelings.

Counterattack expert - Siegfried specializes in using counterattacks in tandem with his ability to read rhythm to land blows after dodging.
