Biography[]
Shortly after the destruction of Staroid, Rocky and his friend Jennifer are building a quiz video game so King Mondo decides to ape the main character to create his own monster. Whilst the Cogs build Silo in the Angel Grove Junkyard, King Mondo sends other Cogs to attack Rocky who manage to steal the disc containing the game's programming. After inserting it, the Cogs leave and Silo eventually activates whereupon he confronts Bulk and Skull (investigating a spate of burglaries) about the Rangers' location. The quiz game is programmed so that you're attacked when you get a question wrong so every attack from Silo is preceded by a question. When Bulk and Skull flee, Silo makes his way to the Quarry where he meets King Mondo as well as Klank and Orbus who have recently been upgraded with a growth laser. After he begins blasting the quarry, the Zeo Rangers confront Mondo and Silo but he proves to be immune to the Zeo Laser Pistols before Klank and Orbus make him grow.
Silo tries to crush them underfoot but the Rangers dodge and summon the Zeo Megazord but even it is no match for Silo with a salvo of missiles completely disabling it. With the Megazord disabled, King Mondo has Silo wrap it in chains and drag it into space before throwing it into the Sun and returning to Earth where Mondo congratulates him. However, the Zeo Megazord quickly returns; having used its new Zeo IV and Zeo II Battle Helmet to escape the chains and the Sun's gravitational pull. Silo tries to fight it but is overpowered, shot by the Zeo I Battle Helmet, levitated and dropped by the by the Zeo III Battle Helmet's gravity beam and then killed by the Zeo Megazord Saber finisher as he charges at it. Despite Silo's death, the floppy disc that contains Rocky and Jennifer's game somehow survives his explosion which Rocky returns to Jennifer so they can pass thier science class.
“ | Sprocket: I really hate those lousy Power Rangers! Look at what they've done this time! Mommy, they've ruined my favourite creation! Machina: There, there my dear. Don't blame yourself. You mustn't take it personally. They have ruined all our creations. |
„ |
~ Sprocket and Machina after Punch-A-Bunch destroyed his glove. |
After Prince Sprocket complains about Punch-A-Bunch damaging himself during battle against the Zeo Rangers, Silo is indirectly referenced along with all previous monsters used up to that point when Queen Machina reassures her distraught son that the Rangers have ruined all of their monsters.
A dream version of Silo is seen after Zordonicus reveals himself to be King Mondo and torments Adam with a group of Cogs and past monsters. However, this version of Silo almost immediately ceases to exist when Adam abruptly wakes up from his dream.
Much later on, after Trey of Triforia transfers his Gold Ranger powers to Jason Scott to deny them to King Mondo, the emperor executes his ultimate plan; recreating an army of past monsters (including Silo) and upgrading them with the Neo-Plutonium Armour. The new and improved monsters are much stronger than they were before and are completely immune to the Rangers' weapons with the ultimate mission of destroying the Zeo Megazord.
Silo is rebuilt for a second time and seen in the audience at Prince Gasket's Machine Arena when Tommy forces Jason to fight Altor. However, the Rangers are later able to escape after Tritor destroys the shield generator which renders Gasket's plan a failure.
In Space[]
Two years later, two versions of Silo join the United Alliance of Evil's army for Dark Specter's invasion of the universe. One Silo joins the Machine Empire and General Havoc's army which attacks the Phantom Ranger's home-world where they defeat the Blue Senturion and Phantom Ranger. The other is part of Divatox's army which attacks Gratha and defeats the Aquitarian Rangers. The invasion of the universe is successful but both versions of Silo are killed by Zordon's Energy Wave which turns them to dust.
Personality[]
“ | The way that we designed this program should run as follows; the computer will ask a question. If you get it right then you score. But if you get it wrong then it will blast you with a missile. | „ |
~ Jennifer on the game coding that became the basis for Silo's personality. |
Due to his programming being derived from a quiz game, Silo is himself very simple with most of his sentences being posed as questions that he would then answer himself before attacking. Even so, he is a brutal fighter who is extremely loyal to King Mondo and willing to do anything to kill his enemies including sending the Power Rangers into the Sun.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Strength: Silo easily knocked back the Zeo Megazord with a double punch and knocked it away with a kick to the chest. Merely pulling his chains (that were strong enough to trap the Zeo Megazord) instantly snapped them.
- Headbutt: Silo could head-butt with enough force to send the Zeo Megazord stumbling back.
- Durability: Silo was completely unfazed by being shot by the Zeo Laser Pistols and the Zeo I Battle Helmet.
- Heat Resistance: Silo is immune to the extreme heat caused by both passing through the Earth's atmosphere and by being in close proximity to the Sun.
- Speech: Silo is able to speak without a mouth.
- Missile Blasts: Silo can fire white missiles from the launchers on his wrists which are strong enough to make rocks rain down from a mountain and take down and disable the Zeo Megazord with one hit.
- Chain Blasts: Silo can fire silver chains from the hole on his stomach to entrap his enemies.
- Flight: Silo can fly using the jet boosters on his shoulders. These are powerful enough to allow him to drag the Zeo Megazord into space and completely resist the gravitational pull of the Sun.
- Shrinking: Despite being rebuilt as a default giant, the Neo-Plutonium equipped Silo was able to shrink down to human size.
Arsenal[]
- Fists: Silo mainly uses his bare hands in combat.
- Missile Launchers: On either wrist, Silo has missile launchers that he could use to fire his missiles or as makeshift knuckledusters that he could use to punch into his enemies.
