Silver Samurai (Wolverine and the X-Men)

Keniuchio Harada, better known by his alias, Silver Samurai is a minor antagonist in Wolverine and the X-Men, appearing as the main antagonist of the episode "Code of Conduct". He is a Yakuza enforcer that forcibly married Wolverine's love, Mariko Yashida and now seeks to rid his past of any failures in order to become the leader of the Yakuza.

He was voiced by Keone Young, who also played Rumi Mori in Batman: The Enemy Within, Kai Ti Chang in Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb, Saico-Tek and Uehara Daizo in Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo, Silas Sinister in Return to Halloweentown, Mr. Wu in Men in Black 3 and Jei in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012).

Personality[]

Harada is an extremely irritable, abusive, and vindictive man who will do anything to get what he wants, even if it includes hurting his opponent's friends in the process as shown when he kidnapped the X-Men just to force Wolverine to fight him. He is also shown berating Mariko and is implied to do this quite often as he only married her so that Logan could not.

History[]

Long ago, Logan had fallen in love with a woman named Mariko Yashida, however her father wanted her to marry Harada instead. This tension compelled them to duel for her, and although Logan won, Mariko had already been married to Harada which caused her to demand Logan to leave and never return.

Years later, Logan finds that all of the X-Men except for Rogue have been kidnapped by Harada in an attempt to force Logan to fight him. Logan goes to Mariko for information which is followed by Harada nearly hitting her before deciding to stage an ambush in the location Mariko had gave him. After Wolverine and Rogue fight off Silver Samurai's men, Samurai sedates and attempts to murder Wolverine but is stopped by the Yakuza leader due to it being dishonorable to kill an opponent that is incapable of fighting back.

After Wolverine relearns how to use a katana, he faces off against Samurai in a duel where no powers were allowed to be used and defeats Samurai fairly. Samurai, unwilling to accept defeat, breaks the "no powers" rule and uses them to attempt to kill Wolverine before being stopped by the Yakuza leader for acting dishonorably and breaking the rule of the duel. He is seen walking away in shame as the Yakuza have lost all respect for him.
