Silvermane is a major antagonist in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He is an elderly crime lord who is the rival of Kingpin and an enemy of Spider-Man.

He was voiced by the late Jeff Corey, while his younger self was voiced by Townsend Coleman, Matthew McCurley voiced him as a child and Cannon Young voiced him as a baby.

Biography[]

Not much is known about Silvermane's background or to how or why he became a crime lord, but he wanted the tablet of time to make himself young again so he could take over Kingpin's territory.

He first appears in the episode Insidious Six where he and the other crime lords are with Kingpin discussing about the crime activities are going and he presses some buttons which ties Kingpin up with wires and he told Kingpin that he's losing of his territory and soon that will cost all of them money because of Spider-Man and says that the crime cartel is losing respect for him but Kingpin breaks free and grabs Silvermane by the shirt and tells him he is planning to destroy Spider-Man by breaking his enemies out of prison like Chameleon, Scorpion, Mysterio, Shocker, Rhino, and Doctor Octopus.

In part 2 of Insidious Six he calls Kingpin that the crime lords have been patient but his failure of destroying Spider-Man forces him to act on their behalf and Kingpin tells Smythe to patch Silvermane to the video of the warehouse and he was shocked that he actually captured Spider-Man and tells Kingpin that the crime lords will be pleased that he fulfil their request but Kingpin tells him that he didn’t do because of their request he says he will eliminate Spider-Man and he tells Doctor Octopus to unmask him and Spider-Man is Peter Parker the villains were shocked at first, but Peter tricks them that he is not the real Spider-Man and Silvermane thinks that Kingpin have deceived him and he tells Fisk that his mistake in kidnapping Aunt May and her nephew was pathetic and Silvermane hangs up much to Kingpin's anger.

Silvermane calls Hammerhead that Kingpin has failed and tells him that it’s time to take him down and later he was seen walking with his men and he sees Hammerhead coming and tells him what’s going on and Hammerhead tells him that Kingpin is coming for him and he takes Silvermane to the elevator to get in the basement in an armored car and he thanks Hammerhead but he instead go up and Hammerhead and it turns out the Chameleon was disguise as Hammerhead and he handcuff Silvermane and kidnapped him in the chopper when Spider-Man is fighting the six villains Kingpin tells Silvermane that he will inform his fellow crime lords that he will be taking over his territory but he refuses and Kingpin ties him and puts him down and he begs him to help him and Spider-Man saves him and he tells him why they had him. Silvermane lies that he is wealthy, and he says that they were holding him for ransom. Parker saves him without realizing who Silvermane was. After escaping from Sinister Six, Silvermane connected Tombstone and demanded a swift destruction of Spider-Man from his henchman.
