Biography[]
We first meet him after Nick attempts to record a video for the Darky Sky website about a competition to meet with Jill Goddard. Chord claims to be from the website and tells Nick that the competition he's trying to take part in was cancel. He then gets Nick to drag a link onto the website, which results in Chord taking it over, and broadcasting a security camera the convention the website is streaming is taking place in. Chord then gets Nick to click on another link, that lets them gain access directly to Jill's phone. It's then Chord reveals she's the one who cancelled the dinner, and that tomorrow the company will make up some excuse about it. It's then that Chord and Nick listen in on a call with her agent where it's revealed they plan to meet up and have sex, which was presumably planned a month in advance. Since they're in the same hotel as Nick, Chord gets Nick to click another link where he hacks into Nick's video camera, which he uses to figure out the perfect room for Nick to spy on Jill from, room 686. He then pretends to be from the reception of the hotel and tells Jill's agent that his original room number was leaked, and gets them to move to room 686. Tony then suddenly walks into the room and Chord tells Nick to turn the lights off, he then says he'll deal with Tony in a second. Nick also asks why a new tab opened, to which Chord replies that it didn't.
Then when the lights in Nick's room suddenly turn on, resulting in Jill's agent seeing the camera. He goes up to the supposedly vacant room to investigate. Chord gets Nick to tazze him, and then instructs him to tie him up, threatening to sign out and leave Nick on his own if he doesn't. He then guides Nick out of the hotel and into the parking garage, and gets him into a car. Then when Nick begins asking too many questions, Chord threatens to send footage of him tazing Jill's agent to the police, and reveals he was the one who setup the fake contest that Nick clicked on. He then makes Nick put a camera at the front of the car, and gives him directions on where to go. After Nick speaks with a group of hackers, Chord hacks into Jill's laptop, and forces Nick to send her a file or he'll kill her. After Nick complies, Chord forces him to tell her to not call the police or he'll electrocute her agent. He then forces Nick to make Jill strip naked to stop the electrocution. After Chord cuts the connection, he heads into Jill's room and kidnaps her. a SWAT team quickly show up to deal with the situation, only for it to be revealed Chord isn't in the house, and that all the cameras they're using to track him are delayed. It's then revealed he rigged the house to explode, killing the SWAT team. Chord then calls Nick and says what's going to happen to Jilly is partially his fault, it's then revealed he caused a car accident. Chord then began hacking into websites to show the video of Jill getting naked, showing this on 1/3 of all websites. Due to this, the hackers Nick is on a call with are able to trace Chord, and due to the video they see, they begin to believe he's the hacker Nevada, and want to stay out of it.
Nick forces them to stay involved by taking pictures of them and putting it onto a hard drive. And he follows along Chord's car, with Jill in it's trunk. Eventually one of the hackers betray Nick and reveal Jill's location to Chord, believing he's helping Nevada. Which results in Chord's car swerving, and Nick crashing into a wall. It's then revealed via camera recordings that Chord killed the real Nevada, and then quickly after he greets Nick in his car and shoots him the chest. It's then revealed that Chord plans to live stream Jill's death via explosives, however, he will let her live if the view count on the live stream reaches within 10 seconds. Obviously this won't happen, resulting in her blowing up, or so it seems, in actuality he faked it. He then reveals to her not even 10% of the viewers left the live stream, Chord then attempts to get her to head into a safety bunker. But then when Jill gets the chance she attempts to runaway, but Chord stops her. Only for him to be contacted by Nevada, who informs him that not only is he alive, but so is Nick, so he tells Chord to go shoot him again. Nevada then reveals to Chord he was pretending to be Nick the whole time, and that by the time he's watching the video he's already going to rescue Jill. Chord then runs back into the building in an attempt to stop Nevada, only to realise the building is on fire. He attempts to stop Nevada, but they get into the safety bunker, just as the explosives go off, resulting in Chord being blown up.
