Simon Price is a character in the novel 'The Casual Vacancy' by J.K. Rowling.
Biography
Simon Price lives in Pagford, the setting of the novel. He is married to Ruth and has two sons named Andrew and Paul. Simon has a bad temper and is physically and verbally abusive to his wife and sons when he is angry. He bullies Andrew by calling him 'Pizza face' on account of his acne and calls his younger son Paul 'Pauline' due to being weak and having nosebleeds (which Simon compares to periods).
Simon works at a printing firm in Yarvil (based on real life Yeovil) and occasionally engages in criminal activity. Simon is introduced to the novel after the death of Pagord Parish Councillor Barry Fairbrother. Simon's wife, Ruth, is a nurse who worked at the hospital where Barry was taken to. With Barry's death, this caused a "casual vacancy" and Simon considered to run in the election on the belief he would earn backhanders. At one point, Simon buys a stolen computer from drug dealer Obbo.
