“ | Unfortunately, the United States "FDA" deemed my food a, quote, "hazard," "linked" to fifteen deaths in the past four months alone?! Although, I'm rolling out some new and improved menu items! Come on, I'm Italian. | „ |
~ Simon S. Salty |
Simon S. Salty is the titular overarching antagonist of the Smiling Friends episode "Who Violently Murdered Simon S. Salty?".
He is the owner of the fast food restaurant called "Salty's." After he was apparently murdered, Pim and Charlie investigate his mascots to find the culprit.
He is played by Perry Caravello.
Appearance[]
He is an Italian, overweight man with curly black hair. He wears a black hat, leather jacket, pants, and shoes. Underneath, he wears a graphic t-shirt that says "Salty's."
Personality[]
Simon S. Salty portrays himself as a highly eccentric yet very charismatic businessman with a love for fast food and a desire to give customers a quality experience. However, he is a completely irresponsible and unethical business owner, as he reprimands the FDA for rightfully charging him for his unsanitary restaurant and unhealthy food. He mocks and seemingly denies the idea that his food is a hazard and that it was connected to fifteen deaths in only four months. Despite this, he does capitulate to the FDA by rolling out new, healthier food options, albeit strange ones, and later tries to quit his unhealthy eating habits.
History[]
Simon opened his titular restaurant with the help of his mascots, where he served a variety of greasy fast food for decades until the FDA began cracking down on him for health code violations. In one of his commercials, Simon begrudgingly refers to the FDA findings of his menu, dismissing the idea that his food was responsible for fifteen deaths over the span of a mere 4 months. To appease FDA concerns, he reluctantly created a new menu of healthier food items, something that mascots like Ketchup disagreed with.
After many years in business, his relationships with his mascots deteriorated to the point that most of them tried to murder him for one reason or another. Before any of them could do the deed, however, Simon perishes from a heart attack as the result of eating what was to be his final hamburger before he committed to a healthier lifestyle.
Villainous Acts[]

Trivia[]
- In the episode "Charlie Dies and Doesn't Come Back", Satan is shown ordering a burger and fries from Salty's. This implies that the fast-food joint continued its operations after Simon S. Salty's death and reverted back to its old menu in Hell.
- It could also still be run by Simon S. Salty considering he likely resides in Hell.
