Simone Chesterman was a seductive hypnotist with a large magical gemstone in the WB TV series Smallville.

She served as the main antagonist of the Fifth Season episode "Hypnotic".

She was portrayed by Nichole Hiltz, who also portrayed Norma in Trailer Park of Terror.

Biography[]

Early life[]

Simone was the daughter a world-renowned hypnotist who used a mystical blue gemstone that gave him the power to hypnotize others into doing his bidding. She was also a petty thief who avoided jail by murdering her father and stole the gemstone to hypnotize people whenever she needed to.

Season Five[]

Simone somehow attracted the attention of Lex Luthor who found evidence of her father's murder and blackmailed her into helping him breakup Clark Kent and Lana Lang by using her mystic abilities. Simone came to Smallville and went to the Talon where Clark was finishing up a date with Lana. Simone approached Clark and used her gemstone to hypnotize him; stating that starting now, Clark will do anything she said.

Clark agreed and they started making out in the alley when Lois Lane showed up. She asked him what he's doing and Clark introduces Simone as his new girlfriend. While under her spell, Clark revealed his powers to her, going to extraordinary lengths to find gifts for her. Simone was intrigued and suggests he call his girlfriend and tell her to come over.

At the Talon apartment, Lois told Chloe Sullivan about Clark's strange behavior and the new girl Simone. Chloe thought something was different with Clark and asked Lois not to say anything until she found out what's going on. Simone took Clark to his loft and has him demonstrate his super strength.

She tells Clark to make love to her even after he admits that he was afraid he will injure her with his powers. While they were making out in their underwear, Lana arrives. She was shocked at what she saw and abruptly left but Clark looked concerned before Simone commanded him to break up with her. Lana left in tears and Clark follows her. He said he's fallen in love with someone else and Lana is heartbroken. Simone arrived at Lex's manor, but Lex wasn't there but on a plane to Honduras and they communicated via closed-circuit television. He was aware of her mind-control abilities.

She reports that Clark and Lana have broken up and Lex had hoped that Simone would discover Clark's secret, but she lied and told him that Clark was normal. Annoyed, Lex ordered her to find more information about him but when she objected, he reminded her that he has evidence that can put her in prison.

Simone returned to the Kent Farm and took a shower when Chloe Sullivan arrived and questioned Clark about his odd behavior. Clark said he's fallen in love and said he told Simone about his powers. Chloe is alarmed and warns him to stay away from Simone because she is sure he is being manipulated. Chloe sneaks into the house where Simone appears. She acts like she is glad that Clark and Simone are together and when Simone turns her back, Chloe takes a card from Simone's purse.

Lois and Chloe investigated Simone's background and discovered that her father was a doctor and hypnotist, but was killed during a botched robbery. His photograph showed him wearing Simone's amulet. They believe Simone killed her father for the amulet, but don't understand why she was after Clark.

Later she told Clark they would be leaving for California. Lois arrives at the farm to see Clark packing who reports that he and Simone are running away to California. Lois attempts to stop them but on Simone's command, Clark knocks Lois unconscious. Martha Kent arrives, concerned to see Lois on the floor, and Simone hypnotizes Martha into making sure Lois doesn't follow. Before they left, Simone instructed Clark to make a stop at the Luthor Mansion and kill Lex. Clark happily agrees.

When Clark and Simone arrived at the mansion, Clark beats Lex up while Lex tries to explain that Simone has been controlling him. Lex reveals that he has video evidence that Simone killed her father, but Simone still has control of Clark. Clark barged in on Lex and nearly killed him, but Chloe arrived and weakened Clark with Kryptonite. With Clark out of commission, Simone hypnotized Lex and told him to kill Chloe and himself, but Chloe struggled for the gun in his hand. In the process, the gun went off and shattered the hypnotic jewel, hitting her in the chest as well killing Simone, freeing Lex and Clark from her control.
