Appearance[]
Sinestro has a tall and muscular build. He has pinkish skin and large, pointy ears. He has short black hair with a receding hairline, and he has long, thin eyebrows. He also sports a thin mustache on his upper lip. He also has piercing yellow eyes.
Like all Green Lanterns, Sinestro wears a Green Lantern uniform. His, in particular, is mostly black with Green accents on the chest, hands and feet. He bears the Green Lantern insignia on his chest. Underneath his outfit, Sinestro wears a purple short-sleeve onesie with a black belt and a silver stipe going down the middle.
Personality[]
Much like Hal Jordan, Sinestro does not take the rules very seriously. As described by Green Lantern Killowog, Sinetro is "an undiciplined hothead who bends the rules to whatever he needs them to be that day." Unlike Hal, Sinestro has no limits as to what he will do, with him even breaking Green Lantern code and killing a prisioner.
Also Unlike Hal, Sinestro is very serious and stoic. He is completely focused on whatever mission he has to complete. He is very intelligent, able to come up with a plan to defeat Neuraxis. He is also resourceful, as he managed to break out of his cell with a pocket knife.
Past[]
At some point, Thaal Sinestro was chosen to be the Green Lantern of Guardian Space sector 1417 and became one of the most decorated Green Lanterns in history. During the Battle of Kund, he took out 10 platoons by himself, though this was only after messing up the battle plan. He has previously met Green Lantern Hal Jordan and taught him various useful tips.
In the present day, Sinestro sent out a distress call to the Interceptor. He explained that he had taken the prisoner Neuraxis from the corrupt Spider Guild prision and was taking him back to Oa. However, he also explained that was under attack by the Spider Guild ship and required assistance.
After barely escaping, Sinestro boarded the Interceptor and placed Neuraxis into a holding cell. Sinestro revealed that he had also stolen a gun from the Spider Guild. When Razor questioned the usefulness of a Spider Guild weapon, Sinestro was surprised skeptical of the Red Lantern's loyalty. The ships AI, Aya, offered Sinestro a drink, and Sinestro once again question the crew's competence.
Hal tried to get Sinestro to talk about his involvement in the battle of Kund. At that moment, however, Neuraxis had taken over Sinestro's mind with his psychic powers. "Sinestro" then tampered with the Interceptor's power couplings, cutting power to the whole vessel. While the crew was trying to figure out what happened, Sinestro fired upon them. After Razor knocked him un conscious, Neuraxis's mind exited Sinestro's body. Sinestro was promptly placed in the Science Cell with Neuraxis, but not before his ring was removed.
When he awoke, Sinestro was expectedly confused about what was going on. Hal informed Sinestro that he wouldn't be let out until they figured what was going on, and Sinestro told Hal that he had no memory of attacking the crew. Sinestro was not in the cell long, as he used a pocket knife to cut through a loose panel. Sinestro then reclaimed his ring Aya and explained what he had found out: that Neuraxis has the ability take over another individuals body.
Sinestro and Aya met up with the other lanterns, who were currently fighting with each other thanks to Neuraxis's manipulation. Sinestro explained that he was draining the ship of oxygen. Since Neuraxis's host couldn't use their ring's powers, they wouldn't be able to survive without air. This means that Neuraxis would have to return to his cell, the only presurized place in the ship. Sinestro's plan succeeded, and Neuraxis returned to his own body. Unbeknownst to Neuraxis, his holding cell had been depresurized when Sinestro broke out, something that Sinestro was well aware of. Neuraxis soon sufforated, and Sinesto went to the cell to taunt his dying foe, saying that "Justice is served."
While many Green Lanterns participated in the battle against Aya at the center of the universe, it is unclear if Sinestro was among them or not.
Trivia[]
- While only appearing in one episode, the writers have stated that Sinestro would have returned as a Yellow Lantern like his comic counterpart had the show received a second season. Apparently, there would have been a plot where he tried to frame Hal Jordan for his crimes.
