The Sinister Six are the main antagonists of the 2018 video game Marvel's Spider-Man. They a team of supervillains, led by Doctor Octopus, the group consists of Mister Negative, Electro, Vulture, Rhino and Scorpion. Doctor Octopus forms the group to exact revenge on his former business partner, Norman Osborn, but they also clash with Spider-Man.
History[]
After Mayor Osborn claims credit for the capture of Mister Negative, this infuriates Otto Octavius and pushes him over the edge. Norman had already removed funding from his projects at this point and, according to Otto, stolen his ideas and technology. Past history showed that, while they had worked together as scientists and co-founded Oscorp, Norman was quick to break the rules, such as when he used an untested substance on a young Martin Li and inadvertently created Mister Negative.
Otto assumes the mantle of Doctor Octopus to exact his revenge, breaking criminals out of Ryker's Prison and The Raft. He had researched all of the most violent, offering each of them something unique if they were to help him. Thus, they form the Sinister Six, with the singular goal of destroying Norman Osborn and Oscorp.
Meanwhile, Vulture teams up with Electro and together they set up a trap for Spider-Man, although he manages to defeat them. He then has an encounter with Scorpion, who poisons him. After having to fight against the hallucinations of his own mind and barely escaping, Spider-Man has a second encounter with Scorpion, who is now accompanied by Rhino. He ultimately defeats the duo, leaving only Mister Negative and Doctor Octopus left, Spider-Man then defeats Mister Negative, fed up with his team's failure Doctor Octopus decides to finish off both Spider-Man and Norman Osborn himself. Leading to the final battle between him and Spider-Man of which the latter defeats the former and leading to all their arrest and sent to prison.
Some time after the events of the first game, it's possible that the team was disbanded following their defeats at the hands of Spider-Man. During the events of the spin-off game "Miles Morales" Rhino makes his escape and rampages throughout the city until he is defeated by both Spider-Men. He is then taken in and made into an enforcer by Roxxon, now working for Simon Krieger. He is eventually defeated again by Spider-Man (Miles Morales) and the Tinkerer.
During the events of the sequel, "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" half of the team is captured, defeated, and killed by Kraven the Hunter including Scorpion, Vulture, and Electro leaving Rhino, Mister Negative, and Doctor Octopus left. Mister Negative is shown spending some time in prison until he is released and captured by Kraven. He is then forced to fight Spider-Man (Miles Morales) to the death, until he is given a chance at redemption by aiding the two Spider-Men. Li then gives his powers to Spider-Man (Peter Parker) and officially decides to live a better life, for good this time. Doctor Octopus is seen still incarcerated and speaks to his former friend Norman Osborn about recent events and what will possibly happen in future.

- Unlike most modern depictions of the Sinister Six, this version of the Sinister Six doesn't include Sandman or Mysterio, being replaced by Mister Negative and Scorpion.
- Unlike Mister Negative, however, Scorpion has appeared as a member of the Sinister Six in other Marvel media.
- Mysterio and Sandman went straight after serving their time in prison; they were already out of prison when the events of the game happened confirmed to exist in the Marvel's Spider-Man continuity, as during the Halloween mission it appears a woman disguised as him.
- Sandman is also confirmed to exist in it as well, as one of the Backpack collectables is a vial of sand in which Spider-Man somehow managed to trap the villain in sometime before the game.
