“ | That's just it. They're not my people. I-I'm not even from Joke-a-lot! [...] My real name is Ratbone, Basil Ratbone. I came to Joke-a-lot years ago from the No-fun-at-all. | „ |
~ Sir Funnybone revealing his backstory. |
Sir Funnybone (real name Basil Ratbone) is the main antagonist of the 2004 movie Care Bears: Journey to Joke-a-lot, an installment in the 2000s saga of the Care Bears franchise. He is the former ruler of Joke-a-lot.
He was voiced by Adrian Truss.
Personality[]
Sir Funnybone presents himself as a seemingly benevolent monarch who rules over Joke-a-lot in a prosperous manner. However, beneath this façade, he is serious, grumpy and moody, wanting to steal his kingdom's royal gems and ban all forms of joy and laughter (and anything remotely related to that) from his own kingdom.
However, such behaviour stems from his past where he lived in the No-fun-at-all for years until he moved to Joke-a-lot and wanted to change for the better. He then learned by the end of the movie that it's okay to be silly and funny sometimes, leading to him redeeming himself and befriending the Care Bears to make up for his acts.
Appearance[]
Funnybone is a brown mouse with a pointy black nose and two whiskers on both sides. He has a yellow tie with red ribbons on it, and he has a red and green hat to represent monarchy.
