| ~ Sir Talbot Buxomly on his servants |
Sir Talbot Buxomly, MP is a antagonist from Blackadder the Third, appearing in the episode "Dish and Dishonesty". He is a British Member of Parliament described by Edmund Blackadder as "a violent, bigoted, mindless old fool", which makes him overqualified for the position of High Court Judge.
He was portrayed by Denis Lill.
Biography[]
He is MP for Dunny-on-the-Wold, a rotten borough in which the electorate consists of three rather mangy cows, a dachshund named Colin and a small hen. His policies include shooting peasants, flogging servants and extending slavery to anyone without a knighthood. He hardly ever turns up to Parliament, and the only time he bothered he urinated in the corner and then passed out in the Speaker's Chair. Sir Talbot frequently abuses his servants, eating his food off of them because he's too cheap to pay for a table.
Edmund Blackadder, butler to the Prince Regent, suggests him as the MP to oppose William Pitt the Younger's motion to strike the Prince from the Civil List. The prince agrees, lauding his various policies as "good, sensible policies for a happier Britain". He is invited to discuss Pitt's motion with the prince and announces his intention to vote against Pitt, despite the fact that "there are lemon peels floating down the Thames that would make a better Regent than [him]", and will not be stopped by his ill health or anything else. He then sits down in a chair and immediately dies from his ill health.
