Sister Charity is the main antagonist of the Chick Tract "The Trick". She is the leader of a coven of Satanist witches who kill children every Halloween as blood sacrifices.
Biography[]
Her Highness Sister Charity is a witch as well as the head of a countrywide Satanist cult in the USA. She is a direct servant of the Devil himself, believing that she will reign alongside him in Hell if she faithfully serves him. Charity's service to the Devil takes place every Halloween night, when she and her fellow witches kill children as blood sacrifices to their master (which the story also claims is the true purpose of Halloween).
One September, Charity addresses all the witches from around the country and announces that the Devil wants them to provide more sacrifices than usual this year. Willing to undergo any means she sees necessary of attaining her goal, she proposes that they distribute Halloween candy that contains razor blades and broken glass so they can kill as many children as possible, and that they should inject the candy with drugs and poison to ensure maximum result. Knowing that the Devil wants to claim the souls of plenty of children, Charity further instructs the others to use magic spells to bewitch the children into eating the horrific Halloween treats.
That Halloween, the witches carry out Charity's instructions, leading to many children being mutilated and at least one, Johnny Dexter, dying horribly. The witches then celebrate their success, as they are certain the Devil will be pleased with their work.
Later, Sister Charity is shown watching the news of her success on TV. She then suffers a heart attack (implied to have been caused by God) and dies. She finds herself burning in Hell and pleads with Satan to save her from being tortured as a reward for her service. However, the Devil taunts Charity for believing his lies and tells her she's getting what she deserves for her heinous actions.
