Sister Spider is a minor antagonist of the manga/anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, serving as a major antagonist of the Natagumo Mountain Arc. She is a spider demon that was found by the Lower Moon Rui and forced to become the Sister of his fake family.
She was voiced by Ryoko Shiraishi (who voiced Asuka Kazama in Tekken and young Dabi in My Hero Academia) in Japanese and by Erica Lindbeck (who also voiced Daki in the same series, Pakunoda in Hunter x Hunter and Lady Nagant in My Hero Academia) in English.
Appearance[]
The Spider Sister's physical features are very similar to that of her "younger brother," Rui. She has the looks of a demon girl in her early teens with a completely pale, milky-white skin complexion, snow white hair, and pure white eyes with only her silvery pupils separating them from her sclera. She also possesses several red dot-like patterns on her face similar to her "family."
The Sister's original appearance as a demon was completely different than her current look. Her original appearance was that of a teenage demon with black hair, slitted cat-like eyes and pale grayish skin.
Personality[]
Outwardly, the Sister Spider appeared to be the most innocent of the Spider Family; however, she's actually as ruthless and merciless as many other members of the family, and was even willing to kill other demons who tried to help her such as the "elder sister" demon who offered to flee with her to start a new life. She's also shown to possess a slight sadistic streak as when she cocooned Murata, she, with a cruel smile, proceeded to gleefully describe the effects of her dissolution cocoon's corrosive acid slowly melting him down, starting from clothes down to his body.
She is also shown to be hypocritical, as she begged Rui not to abandon her when she had more or less done the same to her sister, and also cowardly, being willing to beg for mercy and even attempted to sell Rui out to Shinobu when cornered while also feigning remorse in an attempt to save her life. She felt little genuine remorse when confronted about the people she killed, as she lied about her total victim count, stating that she only killed five humans while in truth she ate at least eighty.

Past[]
Originally, the Spider Sister was just a lesser demon who was fearful of the Demon Slayers who sought to kill her. After fleeing a group of slayers, she encountered Rui who proposed that she joins his family, an offer she accepted due to being short on options. As Rui slaughtered the Demon Slayer group who went after her, he welcomed her into his family, sharing his blood with her, thus giving her strength and granting her a Blood Demon Art of silk generation and cocoon weaving.
In the anime, it was also revealed that she was tutored by another spider demon in Rui's family, the one who played the role of the "eldest sister". But one night, the "eldest sister" shared her woes with her, admitting that none of them wanted to play the role of Rui's family and proposing that they escape together, even admitting that the Sister Spider is the one demon in the family she truly recognizes as a sister.
Initially, she appeared to have accepted her request; however, Rui would eventually catch them in an act, as the Sister quickly surrenders her "elder sister" without any hesitation, thus culminating in the latter being punished by being cut up with strings and left to hang until the daybreak, an act the Sister felt no remorse over. Eventually, she would focus on maintaining a perfect track record of remaining in Rui's good graces for a very long time.
Natagumo Mountain Arc[]
One day, a group of Demon Slayers led by Tanjiro Kamado was deployed to the Natagumo Mountain to investigate the disappearances of the Demon Slayer Corps. The Sister would then be noticed by Tanjiro and Inosuke after the latter two have slain the Mother Spider. Fleeing from them on sight, she called for the Father Spider to deal with them as she reported to Rui about deaths of the Mother and the Brother Spider.
However, during the report, her eyes reverted back to their original form, which prompted Rui to slash her face with threads. This act would be seen by Tanjiro who called out the Lower Moon on cruel treatment of his "sister" and decried Rui's claims of familial bonds between him and her as fake, angering Rui and initiating a fight. But during the battle, as Tanjiro was in peril of dying from Rui's attack, his younger sister Nezuko took the blow, shielding Tanjiro with her own body.
Rui was moved by the sight of their strong bond and desired to claim Nezuko for himself as a sister. The Sister Spider begged for Rui to not abandon her in favor of Nezuko, which only angered Rui as he sliced her to pieces with his threads. In rage, Rui accused the Sister and the rest of his fake family for never living up to their roles in their entire lives, and the Sister in response pleaded for Rui to give him another chance. He decided to give her an opportunity to rectify her mistake by killing the other Demon Slayers on the mountain, an opportunity she took immediately.
Eventually, the Sister Spider would run down the mountain before she had an encounter with Murata, whom she cocooned effortlessly. As he was cocooned, the Sister proceeded to gleefully describe the effects of her cocoon's corrosive acid, but her glee would be short-lived as her bragging was overheard by the Insect Hashira Shinobu Kocho. She attempts to fight the Insect Hashira off, but gets effortlessly beaten and finds herself cornered. Beginning to beg for mercy, she tried to give away that Rui is the one forcing her to kill others under threats of death, and Shinobu initially feigned compassion by promising to save her, but not before inquiring her about her total victim count.
To make herself appear to be more innocent, the Sister lied that she only killed five people, but Shinobu saw through her lies and pointed out that she ate at least eighty humans, taking notice that she spotted at least fourteen cocoons in one spot in the forest, all cocoons matching the appearance of hers. Eventually, Shinobu decided that she would give the Spider Sister a "penalty" to give her victims justice by promising to put her through excruciating pain for every life she took to absolve her of her sins, even reminding the Sister that she is a demon, which means that she won't suffer any lasting effects.
This only served to enrage the Sister, who attempted to fight back one last time, only for Shinobu to effortlessly dodge her attacks and strike her with a single Insect Breathing technique. Seeing that Shinobu wasn't able to decapitate her and realizing that she can't due to her weak muscle strength, she thought that the Insect Hashira would be an easy prey. However, before she could make a move to attack, the Spider Sister felt the pain rupture all over her body, revealed to have been poisoned by Shinobu's wisteria poison, thus resulting in her painful death, as her would-be-victim Murata gets freed by Shinobu without a scratch.
