Son Sisuk is one of the two overarching antagonists (alongside Florián Bartos) of the Netflix series Welcome To Eden.
He is portrayed by Koichi Sugihara.
Biography[]
Sisuk is the owner of a chain of petroleum extraction plants across the globe, wanting his daughter and sole heir, Som, to take over his company as he has little time to live due to an incurable illness, even though Som did not want to. When he found out that Astrid's father, Florián, made discoveries about New Eden, he hired Danae and another unidentified biker assassin to kill him, managing to do so by pushing him off the road, causing his car to crash and flip over, but his grandson and Astrid's son Isaac, manages to survive, with Danae stopping the upload of Florián's files. This is the catalyst of events that lead Astrid to finish what her father started years ago, which also damages her mental stability, creating Eden and her husband Erick helping fund the project. After hosting another festival, at the time Zoa, Charly, Ibón and África were stuck on the island, Astrid chooses Gabi, Zoa's little sister who's going by a different name "Molly" to avoid suspicion, and Som as the final residents of the island and the parties cease, deciding it's about time to put the New Eden plans in motion.
During an evaluation when Som is asked to speak about her life, she brings up the fact that her father made her work at his company, but that she still loves him and thinks he's a good man. However, Astrid questions this and even remarks that his death might give her free reign to make her own decisions, which leaves Som visibly uncomfortable. When the others start complaining to Astrid and Erick about how they lied to them about New Eden, Astrid orders Joel to take Gabi and Som away for a double date with him and Charly. Charly, who was assigned against his will as Som's link to escape death, despite being in a relationship with Mayka, is forced by Joel to be intimate with her, having it recorded as a sex tape. Astrid later contacts Sisuk, who is bedridden in Montreux, Switzerland, and shows him the video of his daughter and Charly having sex, taunting him over the fact that she will make Som stay on the island and get his inheritance to fund New Eden. Sisuk tries to reason with Astrid, arguing that his motives for killing her father were for business and his daughter is not to blame, only for Astrid to dismiss his pleas, reminding him that he lit the match by bringing her son Isaac into this.
Charly later breaks up with Som as he can't stop thinking about Mayka. Despite having no significant reason to stay, Som signs the papers without hesitation to be part of the community. One day, Som goes skinny dipping at the beach and is caught by Danae. Just as it seemed Som was about to be punished, instead her true nature was revealed as Danae cut her shoulder, taking out a chip that contains information about the island. The two are colluding with each other to destroy Astrid's dominion. Later on, as everyone is busy attending Zoa and Bel's execution over their assassination plot on Astrid, Danae sneaks into the hidden transmitter room inside Astrid and Erick's compound. She uses the chip and manages to access Eden's system, which computer replies "Hello, Eden", right before she is caught by Isaac.
