The Sixers are the employees/footsoldiers for IOI in the 2011 book called Read Player One. The reason why they're called Sixers is that each each employee has both employee number and avatar name that is about six digits long. Also they're contract-bound employees which provide them with food, water, shelter etc.
Appearance
In reality they're a bunch of men and women wearing VR helmets and use these devices that allows them move through out in a virtual reality called the Oasis. However in VR they have a helmet with the name of the company, and a chestplate that has a 6-digit number.
