| “ | Skelly: Well, we couldn't find him. See, we went looking for him at the castle, but the castle was missing. Course, you already know that. And then we were attacked by a bunch of knights. Bones: A knight, actually. There was only one. Skelly: But he was very effective. Unpleasant. Mean, I'd have to say. Bones: Mean? Would you go that far? Skelly: Yeah. When he did the thing with the thing... Bones: Right, right. Mean. I'm good with mean. Skelly: This knight had a voice like thunder. Bones: A sword as fast as lightning. Skelly: He came at us like a whirlwind! Bones: All in all, we'd have to say... Together: It was a dark and stormy knight! |

| ~ Mallock the Malign |
Skelly and Bones are the secondary antagonists of the 2010 LEGO® film LEGO: The Adventures of Clutch Powers. They are Mallock the Malign's incompetent henchmen, and members of his skeleton army on Ashlar.
Skelly is voiced by Alex Désert, who also voiced Sonny Tang in Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, Zimos in Saints Row the Third and Saints Row IV, and Bwonsamdi in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. Bones is voiced by Chris Hardwick, who also voiced Swimmy in Back at the Barnyard and Glowface in The X's.
Appearances[]
Skelly and Bones are both standard LEGO skeletons. Bones wears a wingless dwarf helmet. They are armed with scythes, glaives, and shields.
History[]
Skelly and Bones are best friends amongst Mallock the Malign's undead skeletal army on the planet Ashlar, and are two of his trusted and loyal lieutenants. Although Skelly is slightly more intelligent than Bones, both are very dimwitted. After Mallock's breakout from prison, Skelly and Bones were dispatched to locate the missing Prince Varen, who had fallen into hiding. They are tasked to follow Clutch Powers in the hopes that he will lead them to Varen, but are confronted by Hogar the Troll. Skelly and Bones demand that Hogar hand over Clutch to them. An irritated Hogar, who failed to hypnotize Skelly and Bones with a mind trick, then swallows Clutch, hits the skeletons with his club, and escapes through a hidden doorway.
Defeated, Skelly and Bones were reassigned to protect Mallock's fortress, the Skeletal Tower. During the final battle between Varen's forces and Mallock's army, Skelly and Bones sat by the sidelines eating popcorn. They distracted their Uncle Morty, an active combatant, who subsequently died when he got run over by a cart. Skelly and Bones were later thrust into battle, engaging in a fight with Brick Masterson, who was equipped with a jetpack. Both Skelly and Bones were defeated by Bernie von Beam, who discombobulated them with a gear, spinning them around and rearranging their parts. Skelly, reorienting himself first, began laughing at Bones' new rearranged appearance, only for Bones to begin laughing at Skelly, making Skelly look down and realize he had been reduced to a skull atop a pelvis with one leg. Skelly began screaming in disgust as Bones kept laughing, before the two fell apart, seemingly killing them.
However, Bones and Skelly actually survived, and somehow rebuilt themselves later, although Bones was now missing his helmet. For reasons unknown, they did not disintegrate with the rest of Mallock's skeletal army following the wizard's capture. Later, Arthur Fol, Clutch's chief scientist, was experimenting with an interplanetary teleporter device to retrieve the lost spare hair piece of Peg Mooring, who had left said hair piece behind on Ashlar. When the device did not appear to work on first try, Fol threw it, making it summon Skelly and Bones from Ashlar, who had Peg's hair piece in their possession. While the two were confused over where they were, Bones promptly claimed the hair piece for himself and put it on, arguing with Skelly over it before the pair began to grab random nearby items to claim as their own. Meanwhile, Fol, hiding from the duo, reversed the polarity of the teleporter and fired it at the skeletons in an attempt to send them back to Ashlar. However, Fol missed and accidentally summoned a dragon, which was ignored by Skelly and Bones and promptly returned to its homeworld by Fol. After a few more failed attempts, Fol ended up accidentally summoning a decoy minifigure that Skelly and Bones had used in a previous attempt to capture Clutch, which had a painted face that appeared female. Skelly and Bones promptly grabbed the decoy figure, allowing Fol to finally blast the pair, sending them back to Ashlar.
Personality[]
Skelly and Bones lack sufficient strategic intelligence. Although Skelly might be slightly smarter than Bones, this is a low bar to clear, as both are notoriously incompetent and seem to lack complex skills or hobbies beyond their loyalty to Mallock and their involvement in battles. When facing Hogar the Troll, they fall very susceptible and nearly fall hypnotized by his mind trick, which shows their weak mental resilience.
One of their strategies to capture Clutch Powers involved luring him in a bone cage and tying a chain around a poorly built figure of a person in distress; Clutch immediately notices the bait, but when Clutch draws a new face on the blatantly fake figure they drew, Bones becomes too infatuated with it. Skelly, attempting to intervene, unwittingly falls into the trap himself. In another instance, Skelly and Bones break through a hole in the wall that Mallock had only just repaired, much to Mallock's chagrin. While watching Mallock and Varen's warring armies from the sidelines, Skelly and Bones make the conscious decision to distract their Uncle Morty in the heat of battle, inadvertently leading to his death.
Skelly and Bones do have a sense of humor, as they have a penchant for making skeleton-related puns. In the instance after the violent death of their uncle, they immediately started cracking jokes.
