The Sky Torcher is a major antagonist of the TV series, Dragons: The Nine Realms, who appeared as the main antagonist of the third season and a redeemed antagonist in the fifth season and the seventh season.
Biography[]
Before the Sky torcher is revealed the Flame Throwers, which are its minions, are scouting the Crystal Realm territory for their alpha. When Tom and his friends came, the Sky Torcher came out of the lava flow of this realm and attacked them. Tom has a strategy to let the Fault Ripper come to drill in order to drain the lava. After that, they all forced the Sky Torcher to leave the Crystal Realm and go to the Fire Realm along side the Flame Throwers. The Fault Ripper sealed the opening through the Fire Realm with its roar.
It travelled to the Ice Realm to finds its missing minions. The Dragon Club tries to fight it off by trapping it in the frozen lake. But it still tried to go after them. Tom realized that it was just trying to find his missing Flame Throwers instead of fighting them. After releasing the Flame Throwers Tom and the gang prepare just in case of an attack. But instead they all take off, relieving the Dragon Club.
Buzzsaw found the Sky Torcher and tried to command it to release the death dragon. But it didn’t obey him much to his frustration and keep attacking the Dragon Club anyway. It cornered Tom to the Jörmungandr's jail preparing to abolish him, but Thunder pulled the lever off the Jörmungandr's prison, releasing it. After seeing the gate open it growls standing guard, but before it can do anything it gets grabbed on the neck and dragged it in. It survived, but became severely wounded. Later on, the healing Sky Torcher is awakened by a desperate Tom Kullersen, along with Jun Wong in hopes of getting Gronckles for an iron gate. A brief confrontation ends in failure as the gigantic dragon is still recovering from its injuries and its Flame Throwers are unsuccessful in catching the intruding Kullersen and Wong. In the final battle, it reappears with the Fault Ripper to take down Jörmungandr, blasting fire to stun it alongside the Fault Ripper, allowing for Thunder to eventually defeat Jörmungandr.
Appearance[]
The Sky Torcher appeared as a large dragon with long neck. Like most dragons, it also seems to have four legs and two wings. It also has a snake-like mouth. Its firepower is unique, since the fire goes in four directions at once.
Personality[]
The Sky Torcher is very territorial and wanting to make new territory, even by force with its followers. It is also a boss to its minions, the Flame Throwers. It doesn’t have any care for others as shown when it endangered the crystal realm inhabitants and the Dragon Club multiple times, showing no remorse in the process.
However, the fifth season showed a much softer and caring side to the Sky Torcher as it made peace with the Dragon Club after the latter freed its subjects from Buzzsaw. Buzzsaw attempted to train it for his bidding, but it kept ignoring him.
Powers and Abilities[]
As a Stoker-class dragon, the Sky Torcher is able to breath fire from its mouth. However, the flames it exhales are capable of splitting into four streaks for effective fire power. The Sky Torcher is also an expert strategist and commander, as it is able to take full control of an army of Flame Thrower dragons. It is also capable of flight, just like any other dragon species.
Weaknesses[]
The Sky Torcher's only weakness is freezing temperature, which can neutralize the dragon's fire breath.
