“ | Life with Slash was different. We shared a camp and did as Slash told us, but we knew that no one would look after us but ourselves. It's hard getting used to looking after one another. | „ |
~ Violet recalling what living in Slash's group was like in Path of Stars |
Slash's group is a group of rogue cats led by Slash who are supporting antagonists in the Dawn of the Clans arc from Erin Hunter's Warriors book series, serving as the main antagonists of the arc's last two books.
History[]
In A Forest Divided, Slash first makes mention of his group as a large band of rogues who used to feed on the prey offered by the local strays, before said strays began hunting for the early settlers instead. Slash then kidnaps Star Flower, bringing her back to his camp as a hostage.
In Path of Stars, a member of the group by the name of Fern speaks with Gray Wing about life under Slash's leadership, and suggests that a few members who also dislike Slash may rebel and help Gray Wing.
Thunder and Lightning tail spy on the camp, observing Slash enjoying torturing his own cats. During a training session, a pack of dogs attack Slash's camp, killing Beech, Frog, and Stone. Slash abandons the camp and most of the group after this, only taking Splinter, Snake, and Beetle with him.
While most of the abandoned cats join the early settlers, Bee and Ember betray their new groups to rejoin Slash instead. The rogues interrupt a meeting between the settlers where Slash reveals he holds a grudge against Gray Wing and aims to harm him. The rogue cats then attack the camp of Wind Runner, kidnapping Black Ear in the process. When a band of settlers go to rescue the kit, Slash's group is about to cross Thunderpath, when Swallow, who is carrying Black Ear, suddenly trips and releases him. Slash orders his cats to leave the kit behind, before fleeing across the Thunderpath, marking their last appearance in the series.
