Sleep Monster is a minor antagonist in the BoBoiBoy franchise.
He is the arch-nemesis of Papa Zola, and comes out of the same game world as the latter. He later teams up with Adu Du and Probe to defeat BoBoiBoy and Papa Zola, only to be defeated by BoBoiBoy in his dream world after refusing to accept loss on his checkers' game.
He was voiced by Anas Abdul Azi in Malay and the Disney Channel English versions who also voiced Adu Du, Probe, BoBoiBot alongside Nur Fathiah Diaz and Yoyo Oo in the same franchise. In the YouTube English version, he was voiced by Azman Zulkiply.
Appearance[]
The Sleep Monster has a body roughly the shape of a Tyrannosaurus with a pair of legs, a long snout, sharp teeth and a pair of red ball-pointed horns on its head and another pair of red ball-shaped horns on its nape. His scales are dark red with a light-colored chest.
Personality[]
The Sleep Monster is a haughty and ambitious monster. He does not like to be told but he is willing to join with other criminals for his own benefit.
Biography[]
The Sleep Monster is an arch-nemesis of Papa Zola from the game of Papa Zola 5: Truth Against the Forces of Darkness on Boboiboy's original series.
In Season 1 episode 7, the game shows the Sleep Monster arrives on Earth, which angered Papa Zola. While Papa is speaking, He falls asleep, which only serves to further anger Papa, and then he reminds Papa that the name of him is also "Sleep Monster", which makes Papa chuckle. He attacks Papa with a Sleep Wave, which puts Papa to sleep. Papa manages to wake up and say "Justice never sleeps", before attacking him with "Wisdom Kick".
In Season 1 episode 8 and 9, the Sleep Monster comes out of the video game and teams up with Adu Du and Probe to attack BoBoiBoy and his friends. When they arrive at Tok Aba's house, Adu Du says that they have a present for BoBoiBoy. Probe misunderstands and wraps him in a large box and ribbon as a present. After Adu Du gets out of the box, the Sleep Monster attacks Boboiboy and his friends, but his attempts only get resisted by them. So he uses his Dream Bubbles to put BoBoiBoy's Gang to sleep, except for Boboiboy, Gopal, and Papa Zola. Then, Boboiboy, Gopal and Papa Zola enter the Sleep Monster's dream world, where Gopal challenges him to a game of checkers. However, Papa Zola doesn't know how to play, so he is replaced by Tok Aba. The Sleep Monster eventually loses the game but refuses to accept it, instead attacks the heroes, only to be defeated by BoBoiBoy.
