Slippery Sam

Slippery Sam is a one-time villain from the Famous Studios cartoon, Possum Pearl, only appearing in the episode "Possum Pearl". He is a robber on the lam who became the involuntary love interest of Possum Pearl.

Biography

In "Possum Pearl", Slippery Sam was on the run from the police and he went to hide behind a rock. The police didn't notice that he went behind the rock so they zipped right past him and Sam was free to escape. Sam went into the woods to lay low for a while and stumbled across Possum Pearl's log cabin and broke in. Possum Pearl was in the log cabin at this time and she instantly fell in love with him. Slippery Sam demanded that Possum Pearl make him some food, quickly and Pearl happily obliged. Pearl gave Sam his food and Sam was put off when he realized that Pearl had made the pancakes in the shape of hearts. When Sam realized this crazy woman was in love with him he tried to escape by breaking out of the window but Possum Pearl grabbed him and pulled him back and started dancing with him, which ended with her twirling him into the fireplace. Slippery Sam went to a door to escape through but the door just led to a closet with Possum Pearl in it. Slippery Sam ran outside and climbed a tree but Possum Pearl was up there too. Slippery Sam went to hide in a cave and then Possum Pearl chased him in but came out, carrying a bear instead of him. Slippery Sam went to hide in a bale of hay but Possum Pearl went in there too. Slippery Sam got on some stilts and started running away but then he found out that Possum Pearl was carrying his stilts. Slippery Sam jumped off the stilts and landed in a lake and swam off a waterfall only to land in a boat at the bottom, where Possum Pearl was. Finally, Slippery Sam was fed up with Possum Pearl and he ran all the way to the prison to lock himself up just to get away from her. Possum Pearl was awarded for accidentally ending up being the "hero", who put Slippery Sam behind bars.
