~ Slithraa to Skales. |
Slithraa is a minor antagonist in both Season 1: Rise of The Snakes and Season 2: Legacy of the Green Ninja in LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, as well as a minor character in Season 3: Rebooted. He is a former leader of the Hypnobrai Tribe who accidentally hypnotized himself while aiming for Lloyd Garmadon, putting the entire tribe under the boy's control. His position was eventually usurped by Skales, reducing Slithraa to a mere warrior.
He was voiced by John Novak, in most of his speaking appearances, who also voiced Acidicus and Skalidor in the same series, Jed McNally in Smallville, The Djinn in the Wishmaster horror movie series, Zeus in Supernatural, Faust in the English version of Adieu Galaxy Express 999, Jack Kirby in L.A.P.D.: To Protect and to Serve, Caligo in Barbie: The Pearl Princess. Ian James Corlett voiced him in Season 3: Rebooted.
Biography[]
Season 1[]
Slithraa was the general and leader of the Hypnobrai Tribe, imprisoned in an icy tomb. One day, Lloyd Garmadon, son of the evil Lord Garmadon, ended up inside it. Slithraa immediately attempted to mind-control the boy, but due to Lloyd tripping on ice, he ended up seeing his own reflection and thus hypnotizing himself, becoming loyal to Lloyd and obeying his orders to have the Hypnobrai attack the Jamanacai village to steal candy, much to Skales's objections.
After the ninja's attack on Lloyd's treehouse fortress, the Hypnobrai attacked and destroyed the ninja's monastery in retaliation, with Skales claiming the Hypnobrai Staff and refusing to give it up. He and Slithraa decided to resolve their conflict with a Slither Pit fight, which Slithraa lost, getting demoted to the rank of Warrior and forced to obey Skales, who became the new Hypnobrai General.
Slithraa only makes a few minor appearances since then.

Trivia[]
- In "The Titanium Ninja", Skales erroneously uses a Hypnobrai Warrior model when he appears to save Ninjago citizens from the Overlord, leading people to confuse him for Slithraa, even though the script identifies him as Skales.
- One of the editions of Ninjago's Character Encyclopedia claims that Slithraa prefers a simple life and hates uprisings, which could be the reason he never tried to take back his position as the general after losing it to Skales.
- Slithraa's name is never said in the TV series.
- Before Slithraa got demoted to the rank of warrior, multiple Hypnobrai Warriors could be seen in one shot. Since he became a warrior, however, only one of them is seen at a time, presumed to be him.
