He was voiced by the late Bernard Erhard.
Mr. Buckston is the president of the Last National Bank. He wanted to steal money and gold from his own bank, so he disguised himself as the Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core and robbed the bank.
In the beginning of the episode Shaggy and Scooby before heading to sleep, sees on TV that the Last National Bank has been robbed and that the janitor saw it all. The janitor, Mr.Williams exclaims that it was the Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core who did it. Scooby goes out to his doghouse to sleep but the Sludge Monster comes out from the doghouse. Scooby runs in to Shaggy's house and they call the gang to get there and Daphne, Velma and Fred arrives.
Daphne is skeptical to the monster, Fred says it must be Red Herring who is the monster. They learn that it's not Red Herring and goes inside Scooby's doghouse to look for the monster. The gang split up with Fred, Daphne and Velma searching for clues and Shaggy and Scooby begin to eat instead. But they get interrupted by the Sludge Monster and he chases them around Scooby's huge doghouse. Eventually the gang comes together and hears the police outside. They go out and discovers that the police are searching for Mr. Williams the bank's janitor. The gang goes into the doghouse again and discover Mr. Williams inside but he gets away.
The gang thinks the mystery is solved but later find money and gold in the basement of Scooby's doghouse. He says that it's not his and a large hole in the floor leading down to the sewers. They go down and discover a ladder that leads to a hole in the floor of the bank vault. They gets chased around by the Sludge Monster and Velma makes up a plan to catch him. The plan doesn't go as planned but in the end the Sludge Monster gets captured and unmasked thus is revealed to be Mr. Buckston. The gang explains everything and Mr. Buckston gets arrested.
