Why haven't you destroyed them? Traitors, ingrates, freaks! All of you!
~ Slug to the Outsiders.

Slug is a crime lord who acted like a father-figure to the Outsiders, but also conditioned them to be hateful against society in general for being outcasts. He is the main antagonist of the episode "Enter the Outsiders!" in Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

Biography[]

Slug resides in the sewers of Gotham. He took in Black Lightning, Metamorpho, and Katana because they were deemed different by people in society. During their time together, Slug would task them with committing crimes on his behalf. At the same time, he would continue to remind them constantly that people in general hated them for being different and that he was the only person who cared for them as individuals.

Batman and Wildcat pursued the Outsiders to the sewers where Slug and his minions were able to capture them. While meeting with Batman and Wildcat, Batman calls out Slug for manipulating the children, which he ignored. Slug intended to feed Wildcat and Batman to giant mutated turtles until Wildcat's insults about Slug got to him. Slug decides to beat down Wildcat for the insults while continuing to feed Batman to the turtles. Slug fights Wildcat, but as the fight continues, Slug is not able to keep with Wildcat. Wildcat lifts Slug up and throws him into the river of sewage.

As the Wildcat was speaking to Black Lightning, Metamorpho, and Katana about his experiences to try and reach them, Slug appears in a new mutated form. He was angry that the Outsiders did not kill Batman and Wildcat and called them freaks. He got into a fight with the Batman and the Outsiders until they defeated him.
