Biography[]

Past[]

In the episode, "The Smurfette", Smurfette was created by Gargamel when he planned to use the Smurfs' big hearts as their weakness. He created her by using blue clay, sugar and spice but nothing nice, crocodile tears, half a pack of lies, a chatter of a magpie, and the hardest stone for her heart. Once she is created, she has a big nose, black hair, and doesn't look cute. Eventually, Hefty Smurf finds her in the forest and brings her back to the Smurf village where she gets her own house and starts her plan.

Meanwhile, Smurfette causes trouble for the Smurfs. Then, she plans on having them go on a picnic with her. Unfortunately, her plan fails when the Smurfs don't show up due to their busy activities. Only Jokey Smurf shows up just to pull a prank on her. Next, she tricks Greedy Smurf into opening the dam. When he tries to close it, she gets into a struggle of keeping it open until she falls into the river, but the Smurfs save her. Papa Smurf asks Smurfette why did she try to open the dam, but she tries to deny everything. However, Smurfette is later put to court. Realizing there's no way out with the Smurfs having evidence against her and based on what Greedy has told them, Smurfette suddenly cries and admits working for Gargamel. At first, Hefty is outraged by this and attempts to fight Smurfette, but holds back when she cries of how ashamed she feels from all this. Then, Smurfette is willing to accept her possible upcoming punishment: thrown out of the village, abandoned in the forest, or sent back to Gargamel. At this point, all the Smurfs cry out of shame and pity for her whereas Papa Smurf takes pity on her while reassuring that it's Gargamel's fault, not hers. Touched, Smurfette wishes to become a real Smurf, which Papa agrees to.

After undergoing a new makeover through magic transformation, Smurfette's appearance is changed: her nose is smaller, her hair is long and blonde, and her clothes minus her hat change, thus, making her look more attractive, which somehow causes a different kind of trouble for the Smurfs as they fight for her affections. Though she looks like a real Smurf now, she doesn't feel like one, but Papa reassures her that she will know when the time is right once she has learned to figure it out on her own before returning to her house. Later, Gargamel contacts her to discover this new transformation; much to his shock. Knowing Smurfette is no longer under his control, he manipulates her into bringing all the Smurfs to a surprise party in the woods, unaware that it is, in fact, a trap set up by Gargamel to capture all the Smurfs.

Once all Smurfs are trapped in a box, Smurfette is suspected by them of acting no good in this again. Then, Smurfette arrives, only to discover that she had been tricked by Gargamel, so, she comes up with a plan on how to save the Smurfs. Smurfette later appears in disguise as the Lone Smurf defeating both Gargamel and Azrael, and saving the Smurfs. She reveals her true identity, finally gaining their trust and becoming a real Smurf at last.

In the "The Smurfette"'s sequel episode, "Smurfette Unmade", Smurfette turns evil again when Gargamel uses a spell to turn her back to her original form. This gets her to put on a blonde wig as a disguise to fool the other Smurfs. Because she isn't a real Smurf anymore, finding the Smurf village's location proves to be difficult for both her and Gargamel. Once spotted by the Smurfs, Smurfette feigns heroism to avoid suspicions before she is brought back to the village by them. Once there, while the Smurfs are performing and watching a play set up by Smurfette herself, Smurfette successfully transports Gargamel to the village using magic to capture all the Smurfs, but not before her disguise is blown off by the wind. Unfortunately, Papa Smurf states that he can't turn Smurfette back to her Smurf form. However, Smurfette once again begins to show remorse for her actions back at Gargamel's hovel. When Gargamel attempts to use Baby Smurf first for his plans, she is against this and suddenly turns back to normal again before defeating both him, Azrael, and Scrupple, thus, redeeming herself once again when she and all the other Smurfs are safe back in the village.
